Re: Nagorno-Karabagh: Military Balance Between Armenia & Azerbaijan
I think it's obvious it wasn't an anonymous source that announced the purchase without permission, seeing how they manage to keep whatever they chose hidden. It was clearly planned as an intimidation factor. As a source of detente, for them to understand regardless of whatever superiority they perceive to have, even if one day they think they have enough to take Artsakh back, they understand everything they have, especially their pipelines, will get blown to xxxx. That is the biggest factor that I believe this purchase brings.
It would be also interesting to learn the factors involved behind the purchase. To know what role Russia played in the transaction.
Furthermore, its great to see Armenia getting some offensive weapons. The defensive systems are great to have, but its good to take the battle to them if they ever make the mistake of lighting that fire.
Finally, reading about the AR1A, it seems to be a improvement on the B-30 Smerch, at least on paper.
