that Zvartnots data often gets mentioned to prove the immigration in Armenia in stark contrast of what the government claims
good to see that number itself provide some solid news
I think you are making something out of nothing if you are thinking that this data means more people are entering Armenia than leaving.

"830,005 passengers left Armenia, 861,710 arrived in the country via Zvartnots International Airport in 2013. The total number of people who arrived in Armenia and left the country via Zvartnots was 1,691,715."

When people leave their country of origin to find work they are almost always going to leave by the least expensive way - by land. If and when they return, they are always far more likely to return by air rather than by land because they will now have enough money to return using a quicker and more convenient way.

        .

I am afraid I always look at government statistics with a pinch of salt.
Soviet tradition of doctoring statistics for propaganda purposes is within the genes of ex soviet ( and corrupt ) goverments.

There are more robust way of establishing if migration has peaked.
Look at the reasons for the migration in the first place.
Then see if officially ( visibly ) the government is taking effective actions to combat it.
Also look for results on the ground.

        .
Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
Great politicians pursue the National interest and small politicians personal interests

          100% agree with above quote.
---- also look for results on the ground ---
          Most reasonable & appropriate.
          Well said.

--- Russian Knights land in Yerevan --- Burjuin
Judging by the name of group & paint job of aircraft, they (Knights) seem to be equivalent to the USA " Blue Angels".
These are exhibition flyers, so my guess is they are going to put on a highly active aerial display.
              Fun to watch these guys.

As cool looking as the equivalent USA aircraft are, I think asceticaly the Russian rigs are more beautiful.

Russian Knights cancel air show in Yerevan due to bad weather

                January 10, 2014 | 18:41

YEREVAN. – The Russian Knights pilot team canceled their show in Yerevan due to bad weather conditions (photos).

As reported earlier, the team stopped in Yerevan on their way to Bahrain air show.

Talking to Armenian reporters, Commander Andrey Alekseyev stated with regret that weather conditions did not meet requirements to perform a training flight.

The group will spend the night in Yerevan before heading to Bahrain where the Russian Knights will display the new program prepared last fall. The air show will be held from 16 to 18 January

“We failed to see Yerevan because of the weather. I hope it will be possible in the future,” said Alekseyev.

The group will go back via Yerevan again on January 20.

In response to reporters’ attempts to find out whether the air show will be held on the way back, chief of the Russian base at Erebuni Alexander Petrov said that the most important show is the fact of the arrival of aerial display team.

“You can see Su -27, one of the world’s best aircrafts in terms of its technical capabilities. The world’s aerial display team is in Yerevan. This is important,” he said.

Popov noted that it would be even better to invite the Russian Knights for a show to Yerevan in the future
The group will spend the night in Yerevan before heading to Bahrain...

That is why I asked, I figured they won't be in Yerevan more than a day or two and as they were coming in to the airfield (from your photos) the weather looked not so good (low ceilings, low visibility)......airshows are done in clear weather only, including practice.
                      Thanks Burjuin
