Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!


2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.

        Stepanakert airport to undergo inspection

        YEREVAN. – The Armenian Government-Affiliated General Department of Civil Aviation (GDCA) will conduct a monitoring this spring at the airport of Stepanakert, capital city of the Nagorno-KarabakhRepublic.

        The inspection will be carried out to find out the extent in which the airport meets the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards, GDCA Head Artyom Movsesyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

        “Last year we had found some technical deficiencies which our colleagues have promised to eliminate. We will go this spring to make sure, once and for all, that the airport is technically ready to accept flights,” Movsesyan said.

        To the query as to why GDCA, and not ICAO, is conducting this inspection, the GDCA chief responded that the Stepanakert airport is not yet registered by ICAO.

        “[But] the work can pass to a similar format after certain processes,” Artyom Movsesyan noted.

          We have plenty of anti ground capability from our airforce. You're expecting the military to use an Su-24 to bombard troops during a regular border skirmish?

            time will show what happened to the azeri side ... naturally senior officers at the border have night vision goggles , we should have for soldiers also . secondary it will be nice if we had camera surveillance but i imagine they would be shot fast .... then we have armenian uavs making shorties at the borders during night times lets say 11 with 5 ...

            Some ideas of defence !

              No but it be nice to have Mi-35s....is there something wrong with us having it too or only our enemy can get it? Jeez

              One way to get reinforcement quickly at the site of intrusion would be to have an airforce "quick reactionary force" of special forces dispatched with helicopters....no need to land either.

                Yes, you beat me to the punch.
                I tried twice to find the length of border, but no luck.
                Choppers placed at strategic spots from end to end of that border.
                Don't know length or terrain to speak with any authority. But seems like choppers could be far enough behind lines for safety & stealth & still be close enough to --- quickly --- take care of BIZ.
                When USA was pinched for money, they still pulled choppers out of hangers & and spun the rotar while helicopter remained on ground to keep them 24/7 ready (coast guard search & rescue -- Kodiak).

                The most industrious, hard working people & we've been reduced to this situation while the freaks to east & west got their sails full.
                Makes my jaw so tight.

                  It happened on Terter frontline. Resident of Sharur region, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Captain Elnur Jafarov was shot as a result of the ceasefire violation by Armenian armed units...

                    There you go. Azerbaijan basically confirms the 2 dead Azeris that Artsrun Hovhannisyan mentioned on the day of the attack. I think the results and our side can always be improved but it was a night-time surprise attack over two different areas involving 30 of their special forces and they managed to kill just 1 of our soldiers while they lost at least 2 with 4 wounded. The results could have been much worse for us and they were not thanks to our soldiers.
