Մայիսի 7-ին ՀՀ ՊՆ Վազգեն Սարգսյանի անվան ռազմական ինստիտուտում անցկացվեց «Նախնական զինվորական պատրաստություն» առարկայական հանրապետական օլիմպիադայի եզրափակիչ փուլը:
«Նախնական զինվորական պատրաստություն» առարկայական օլիմպիադան անցկացվել է 2 փուլով: Հանրապետական օլիմպիադային մասնակցում էին մարզերում անցկացված մրցումներում հաղթող ճանաչված կրթօջախների աշակերտները, ովքեր երեք օր շարունակ զինվորի առօրյայով ապրեցին Վազգեն Սարգսյանի անվան ռազմական ինստիտուտում` անմիջականորեն զգալով զինվորական լինելու պատասխանատվությունը:
Պատանիների ֆիզիկական, կրակային և շարային պատրաստվածությանն անձամբ ծանոթանալու և անցկացվող մրցումներին հետևելու նպատակով մայիսի 7-ին ռազմական ինստիտուտ այցելեց ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Սեյրան Օհանյանը:
Ողջունելով օլիմպիադայի մասնակիցներին, պաշտպանական գերատեսչության ղեկավարն ընդգծեց երիտասարդ սերնդին հայրենասիրական ոգով դաստիարակելու կարևորությունը, հավաստիացրեց, որ հպարտ է նման պատանիներով, քանի որ նրանք են զինված ուժերի ապագա զինվորներն ու հայրենիքի սահմաններն անառիկ պահողները:
Օլիմպիադայի փակման արարողության ժամանակ մրցանակների արժանացան անցկացված մրցումների արդյունքներով լավագույն ճանաչված թիմերը: Թիմային ընդհանուր հաշվարկով Տավուշի և Լոռիի մարզերի հավաքականները զբաղեցրեցին համապատասխանաբար երկրորդ և երրորդ տեղերը: Առաջին տեղն զբաղեցրեց Արցախի թիմը, որը, ի դեպ, արդեն երկրորդ տարին է, ինչ հաղթող է ճանաչվում առարկայական օլիմպիադայում:
Պաշտպանության նախարարի կողմից պատվոգրերի և հուշանվերների արժանացան նաև օլիմպիադայի ընթացքում լավ արդյունքներ արձանագրած մի շարք դպրոցների զինղեկեր ու աշակերտներ:

James Warlick: “These elements form the basis of U.S. policy toward the Minsk Group”

Baku – APA. OSCE Minsk Group US co-chair James Warlick announced 6 elements on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, APA reports quoting to the website of the U.S. Department of State. Warlick said at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace that all these elements are reflected in joint statements by Presidents Obama, Medvedev, and Sarkozy in L’Aquila in 2009 and Muskoka in 2010.

Warlick noted that these principles and elements form the basis of U.S. policy toward the Minsk Group and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. These elements are:

First, in light of Nagorno-Karabakh’s complex history, the sides should commit to determining its final legal status through a mutually agreed and legally binding expression of will in the future. This is not optional. Interim status will be temporary.

Second, the area within the boundaries of the former Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region that is not controlled by Baku should be granted an interim status that, at a minimum, provides guarantees for security and self-governance.

Third, the occupied territories surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh should be returned to Azerbaijani control. There can be no settlement without respect for Azerbaijan’s sovereignty, and the recognition that its sovereignty over these territories must be restored.

Fourth, there should be a corridor linking Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh. It must be wide enough to provide secure passage, but it cannot encompass the whole of Lachin district.

Fifth, an enduring settlement will have to recognize the right of all IDPs and refugees to return to their former places of residence.

Sixth and finally, a settlement must include international security guarantees that would include a peacekeeping operation. There is no scenario in which peace can be assured without a well-designed peacekeeping operation that enjoys the confidence of all sides.

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said it while commenting on the 6 principles regarding the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict announced by OSCE Minsk Group U.S. co-chair James Warlick, APA reports. He said that the Azerbaijani side supports the development of a peace agreement: “The status quo is unacceptable. The status quo is unacceptable for the Armenians as well, the country is not developing and it faces demographic challenges. We call on the Armenian side to solve this issue.”

Congratulations to everyone, California becomes the third American state (after Maine & Rhode Island) to recognize the independence of Artsakh. It takes place one day before Shushi liberation day. URA!

ARF Western US Central Committee Issues Announcement on Historic Vote
Moments ago, the California State Assembly, by a decisive vote adopted a resolution recognizing the independence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, a historic move by the legislature of the State, which is home to the largest Armenian community outside of Armenia.
The Armenian Revolutionary Federation Western US Central Committee welcomes this bold and groundbreaking move, which is a testament to not only the hard work of the Armenian-American community, but also the cognizance of public officials in the State of California about the right to self-determination of all peoples—and in this case the people of Artsakh.
This vote goes a long way in cementing the just aspirations of the Armenian people and underscores the importance of the struggle waged by the people of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic to determine their own fate and to establish democratic norms for governing themselves in the face of grave adversity and threats to their daily existence.
Despite heavy opposition by Azerbaijan, the California Legislature took the heroic step to advance the cause of freedom and self-determination. For this each and every legislator who voted in favor of the measure must be commended. At the same time, State Assemblymembers Mike Gatto, Scott Wilk, Adrin Nazarian and Khatcho Achadjian and Assembly Speaker John Perez must be commended for their leadership in this effort and their commitment to becoming the true representatives of the constituencies.
This is a definitive victory for the Armenian Nation, as well as for the people of Artsakh who have heroically waged a struggle for self-determination and for other disenfranchised peoples around the world.
