Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. There is an urgent need for the adoption of “Cases and rules of contract-based admission into active military service” which allows women and foreigners to serve in the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan and other military formations defined by law, said chief of the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription, Lieutenant-General Arzu Rahimov, APA reports.

A. Rahimov said there are foreigners and stateless persons in Azerbaijan who want to serve in the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan and other military formations defined by law.

“Since there are such cases, we must legalize it,” he said.

A. Rahimov also said the attestation of pre-conscription preparation teachers is underway, adding that methodic materials are being updated.

I don't see anything new here. They had islamists fighting in the last war and they were good fighters and they will be good now to but again it is nothing new. This could however backfire as these islamists get arms inside the country they may decide to revolt and then the Alieve clan will be screwed. I think ISIS is a bigger threat to the Azeris then to us and this law can make it easier for ISIS to infiltrate Azerbadjan. Alieve may talk a lot but he is not about to risk war to get kharabagh back because it puts his regime in jeapordy if he loses again. If ISIS takes over it will be interesting because this is a Shiite country and ISIS is a suni organization. To be honest I think we can defeat whatever they bring at us but ISIS would be a tougher opponent because their mentality is different. Alieve is all about greed and power so he would not risk a war unless he knew he would win. He is also not too interested in strengthening his country or making things better for his people. Throwing money away on weapons his soldiers cant even use works to our advantage. Isis I think will be much tougher to deal with because their ideology makes them a bigger threat. Corrupt people like Alieve are predictable and somewhat rational but ISIS is a whole another story with a lot of battle experience. I think the law above opens a door for ISIS and I will bet Iran is not going to be happy with this move. Interesting things happening in our region, lets hope they work to our benefit.

That will never happen. ISIS And azerbaijan will never cooperate together. ISIS extremists are Sunna while azerbaijani ppl are shiit... azerbaijan is another target to ISIS. Sooner or later a new ISIS will rise inside their country. this thing everyone knows. thats y everyone who tries to disobey the government ends up in the jail.
