Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

No....They scared of crazy pilots like me who can get through the Azeri air defenses with SU-25 and destroy everyone of those Migs in two different quick low level runs the way they are parked in photo.

how far is it for an armenian su-25 from there? the only usable airport is in yerevan afaik, which means 200km to iranian border, from there it's 300km straight to baku along the iranian border. Say you fly low and can avoid air defenses(realistic?), can you make it back with the same fuel considering the distance? It sounds like a suicide mission.

Realistic? Its suicidal and impossible. Can we not discuss something as dumb as this?

need to do calculation....the SU-25 will take off from Artsakh kissing the Iranian border.

1- if Iran would be willing to provide landing field and fuel then the chances of making it back is greatly increased and more bombs can be carried instead of fuel.
2- if no then the SU-25 should have enough fuel (drop tanks) to make it to the target and destroy it (from that photo a nice tear drop approach gives you two runs over it) and from then hit the deck (SU-25 can reach Mach1 when clean and light), fly north (they won't expect that) and defect to Russia or Georgia.

New Liquid Body Armour Is Finally Ready For The Frontline

Scientists at a Polish company that produce body armor systems are working to implement a non-Newtonian liquid in their products.

The liquid is called Shear-Thickening Fluid (STF). STF does not conform to the model of Newtonian liquids, such as water, in which the force required to move the fluid faster must increase exponentially, and its resistance to flow changes according to temperature. Instead STF hardens upon impact at any temperature, providing protection from penetration by high-speed projectiles and additionally dispersing energy over a larger area.

"This viscosity increases thanks to the subordination of the particles in the liquid structure, therefore they form a barrier against an external penetrating factor," said Karolina Olszewska, who performed tests on the STF for Moratex.

The exact composition of the STF is known only to Moratex and its inventors at the Military Institute of Armament Technology in Warsaw, but ballistic tests proved its resistance to a wide range of projectiles.

"We needed to find, design a liquid that functions both with projectiles hitting at the velocity of 450 meters per second and higher. We have succeeded," said Deputy Director for Research at the Moratex institute, Marcin Struszczyk.

Struszczyk said the liquid's stopping capability, combined with the lower indentation of its surface, provides a higher safety level for the user compared with traditional, mostly Kevlar-based, solutions.

"If a protective vest is fitted to the body, then a four centimeter deep deflection may cause injury to the sternum, sternum fracture, myocardial infarction, lethal damage to the spleen," Struszczyk said.

"Thanks to the properties of the liquid, thanks to the proper formation of the insert, we eliminate one hundred percent of this threat because we have reduced the deflection from four centimeters to one centimeter."

When hit by a high-speed projectile, a wide area of the STF hardens instantly, causing the usually massive energy to be dispersed away from the wearer's internal organs.

Implementing the solution in body armor required designing special inserts, but the company says those are lighter than standard ballistic inserts and broader range of movement for their users in the police and military.

"The point is for them not to interfere, not change the way of movement, operation of such the product by the user, and at the same time increase their motor skills, increase effectiveness of their decision process and increase their possibilities during the mission at hand," Struszczyk said.

The laboratory is also working on a magnetorheological fluid, which they hope can be also applied in their products.

According to the researchers, both liquids can find applications beyond body armor, such as in the production of professional sports inserts, and even entire outfits. Another use could be in car bumpers or road protective barriers.

Artsrun Hovhannisyan - Retaliation against Azerbaijan fraught with war

In case Armenia decides to revenge the losses of its soldiers on Azerbaijan based on the principle “an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth”, a large-scale war will break out the very next day, claiming thousands of lives, says the Defense Ministry’s spokesperson.

STEPANAKERT, APRIL 10, ARTSAKHPRESS։ Artsrun Hovhannisyan made the statement at a news conference on Friday as he was asked to comment on Armenia’s somewhat passive reaction to the acts of agression provoked by the adversary.

“The impact is this: what you regret for - that is, the victims and the wounded – and would like to reduce the number of is not unfortunately something anyone can practically achieve. It is strange to me … that the Armenian nation is not willing to recognize the neighboring state with its authorities,” he said.

Armine Sadikyan, a coordinator of peace projects at the Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly, warned against attributing the losses in the military only to the violations of ceasefire, noting that the fatalities caused by such violations accounted only for 25% of deaths from 2010 until 2014. She said that the number rose to 50% only after intensive acts of sabotage along the frontline since August.

You cannot avoid air defense even if you fly low level. There is EL/M-2080 Green Pine for that.
