Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

      They are thermobaric warheads.
It may not penetrate the tank body but do not know if the crew would survive
the thermobaric effect, deprivation of oxygen etc.

They seem to be primarily for buildings, bunkers etc.
      I am no an expert.

Its exactly backwards of what you saying........WWII and on showed us the importance of air support and air superiority.

I take back what I said. Air superiority alone cannot win wars but without it you are sitting ducks.

There are many ways to shake off a missile in flight.
        Manoeuvers
        Chaffs
        Radar jamming
        frequency scramble
        Altitude
        Missile detection and tracking.

You ask anybody in military they will say the same. We get air superiority and then we send in troops and equipment. Air superiority does not destroy all the enemy but delivers major blow and what we call (soften the target).

one example. their are many in the know that agree.

Eddo is right you need strong AF it will be game changer!
What none of you considered is SIGINT and ELINT systems which can disable most of your air defenses! Israelis have sold this to them, we only can rely on s300 rest of our air defense is VERY vulnerable to jamming.
Read article below some stuff is blown out of proportion but mostly they are correct. if their jamming is marginally successful then we cant go beyond the mountains on our counteroffensive. We will have a standstill and have huge losses when we go to plains. Never underestimate Air Force (helicopters and su25''s) that Azerbaijan owns. They constantly upgrade them, most devastating of which is long range missiles, and close air support with their upgraded targeting system.

Translations:English (UK)The border of Nagorno Karabagh, one of the most militarized borders in Europe, attracts attention from think tanks, European organizations and major powers. The frontline between Armenia and Azerbaijan replicates WW1 style trenches and its distance between the two opposing trenches in certain sections are a mere 500 metres in distance.  Azerbaijan’s official rhetoric […]

                    ---- a bit more challenging ??? -----
We have always been grossly outnumbered for a long time. We have been grossly challenged for how long ...
These things we've discussed have and are being addressed by the best we have ... Seyran etc.
Hopefully , these freaks to our west won't attack full force at least till we're stronger.
Unfortunately , that is their intent. Both their stated intent and their physical conduct .
We are ready now and continue to prepare for --- ALL --- we are worth .
The entire world can bet the farm on this ... We are going to fight .

                      .

Undoubtedly an effective air force would give an advantage on the war theatre.
Yes it is very desirable to have an effective air force.

So would it take to have an effective air force.

Lets take things from where we are and how does the desire for an effective air force pan out.

                      First thing first

We need planes, maybe 50 –60.
To buy them we need big bucks.

Then we need to prepare pilots.
Bringing them up to a standard they need many hours of flight time.
To achieve this you need fuel, ( lots of it) maintenance and wastage.
                      More big bucks.
Additionally you need time, a lot of it.

Do we have the time and money?

On the other hand what does it take to incapacitate the opposition air force.
All I will say is much much less.

Secret of winning wars is not to go head to head with the enemy but avoid their strengths and take advantage of their vulnerabilities.
Whether we like it or not one of the strengths of Azerbaijan, compared to us, they have big bucks.
Diverting resources to big bucks projects is like fighting Azerbaijan against their strength.

                      Our strengths are our mountains.
Are we going to leave our mountains and take to the skies?

If there is a war most likely it will quickly evolve into artillery duels with around 20 km strip of dead zone.
A lot of destruction and loss of life and not much headway. Not in the short term anyway.
Its important that this destructed zone is in their territory.

If we really want an air force lets invest in a fleet of drones where the pilots can even be grandmas.
They can support our ground troops and our special forces.
Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
