Mher is right......another big possibility is that Aliyev will start a war of attrition (prolonged war) to stay in power causing many Armenian casualties while his troops are a dime a dozen and don't mean nothing giving high Azeri deaths.

Բացի վերոնշյալից, հունվարի 14-ին՝ ժամը 21:30-ի սահմաններում, ադրբեջանական բանակի հատուկ նշանակության ուժերը շփման գծի արեւելյան ուղղությամբ ձեռնարկել են դիվերսիոն հետախուզական փորձ: ՊԲ առաջապահ ստորաբաժանումները ժամանակին հավաստանշել են հակառակորդի դիվերսիոն խմբի առաջխաղացումը եւ ձեռնարկել համապատասխան կանխարգելիչ միջոցառումներ: Արդյունքում սպանվել է առնվազն հակառակորդի երկու զինծառայող, խմբի մնացած անդամները դիմել են փախուստի:

Արձանագրված փոխհրաձգության ընթացքում պաշտպանության բանակը կորուստներ չի ունեցել:

We have 5 Corps in Armenia.
1st army corps Goris 2nd Khachaghpur 3rd Vanadadzor 4th Yeghegnadzor and 5th Yerevan.
How many Corps are in NKR? anyone knows?

KRASNODAR (Arminfo News Agency) — The Javakhk Diaspora of Russia issued a statement openly calling on the population of Javakhk (Samtskhe- Javakhet- Tsalka region) to launch a signature collection for secession if the attempts to deploy a Turkish military base in the territory of Georgia are really made.

The Javakhk Diaspora of Russia issued the statement following the Georgian media report that mentioned these possible considerations of the deployment of a Turkish military base in Georgia are said to be discussed in an upcoming meeting of the defense ministers of Turkey, Georgia, and Azerbaijan.

“We call on the newly-elected government of Georgia to prevent the country’s involvement in the deliberate provocative conflicts, given that Turkey is going to do the bidding of its western and North- Atlantic patrons and to deliver another stab in the back of Russia, destabilizing the situation in the territory that directly affects the interests Russia’s security. In the given case, the interests of not only Russia but also neighboring Armenia are affected,” the statement says.

If we just open a new war with Georgia and reach to the black sea through Javakh-Adjaria root, not only we can no more be landlocked, cut the Georgian-Turkish border but also block all the Azeri Pipelines!

Azerbaijan is in such a deep and serious economic crisis that it has
no time to think about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, says head of
the Yerevan-based Caucasus Institute Alexander Iskandaryan.

According to the political analyst, the current economic crisis in
Azerbaijan will further deteriorate, however it will not result in
the cessation of shootings at the Karabakh-Azerbaijan line of contact.

"The Karabakh issue is very useful for Azerbaijan. It would be a
very stupid thing for the Azerbaijani authorities to give up that
instrument," he told media on Friday.

Political analyst Sergey Minasyan thinks that the Azerbaijani
government will not launch large-scale military actions this year,
as a situation has been created in which Azerbaijani President Ilham
Aliyev's position has weakened domestically.

"And maybe he will not give up its policy of keeping the situation
tense at the border, but will not launch large-scale military
operations in which the risks are too great. Especially when all the
leaders of Azerbaijan before Aliyev had lost their position after
the outbreak of hostilities," he told media on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Karabakh military report that last night the Azerbaijani
Army's special forces attempted a saboteur raid in the eastern
direction of the contact line. The advanced units of the Karabakh
defense army timely spotted the Azeri commandoes' progress and took
appropriate preventive measures, the Karabakh Defense Ministry said.

As a result of the engagement two Azerbaijani soldiers were killed.

The other members of the group escaped. The Armenian side reported
no dead or wounded.

If there is Armenia Azerbaijan war the oil/gas pipelines will suffer. Georgia will be at the mercy of the Russian (political) gas supplier.

If war happens between Armenia and Georgia the pipelines will suffer. Again Georgia will be at the mercy of the Russian (political) gas supplier.

I am sure the planners are at it.

It is a pity that Iran with its small sized pipeline and Russian supply contracts cannot be our alternative supplier.

I sincerely doubt the Turks will have a base in Georgia- the Georgians might hate the Russians and dislike Armenians but they are not that crazy; and remember Saakashvili and his people are gone. Russia can easily ratchet up the pressure in order to thwart such an action with the Georgians easily facing more losses in terms of land and material via Abkhazia and Ossetia. Russia would also make Turkey pay for its actions and we know they're not hesitant to do something big. Currently, Russian and Georgian relations have improved somewhat.

I would rather see Javakh develop mutually with Armenian and Georgian support, closer relations between Armenia and Georgia in all spheres, and the realization of the proposed gas pipeline from Iran to Russia through Armenia and Georgia. We have much more to gain with good relations with Georgia (as long as the Armenian population in Javakh is being treated magnanimously and Georgian does not buckle to Azeri demands to further cut off Armenia and hurt it economically.Trust must be built between both sides.

Closer relations with Georgia are good for a number of reasons:

1- It cracks the foundation of Azeri-Georgian relations which the Azeris utilize to hurt Armenia. Sun-Tzu would certainly advocate this.
2. Currently with the border situation, we need mutually beneficial relations with Georgian.
3. As much as the Georgians disdain Armenia, they feel equal if not more animosity to Azeris. Christianity, despite our differences, is a factor.
4. A possible pipeline and an improved North-South corridor will help Armenia and Javakh.
5. Due to geographic location, Armenia and Georgia suffer from renewed tensions as Armenia did temporarily in 2008.

Now, if the Georgians pressure Javakh ( as they had after the withdrawal of the Russian bases) and give in to Turkish demands, than that would be a different story.
