Re: Nagorno-Karabagh: Military Balance Between Armenia & Azerbaijan

Burjuin do you know if that laser in the video is in use? Also, is it for blinding the enemy or does it have destructive capacity? Years ago Armenia had a military laser program that was banned by western powers yet they advanced their programs banning others.Originally posted by burjuin View Post

This use to be part of an article years ago. It seams it is all quiet and not spoken of, unless it is military confidential information?
 "Military Grade Anti-Personnel Lasers
Protocol IV of the Vienna Convention, adopted in October 1995, bans the use of anti-personnel laser weapons designed to permanently blind combatants in conventional warfare. Prior to the ban, several nations, including the U.S., the UK, Russia, China and Armenia, had developed laser anti-personnel weapons of various intensity levels."

Thanks for the clarification. For some reason I remember reading on other forums referring to that unit as a laser. My mistake.Originally posted by burjuin View PostThere's no laser weapons in this video.
The screen shows the television optical sight (TOV) as part of SAM Osa and S-125. Modernised in Armenia
