This talk about the EU - Dumbest thing I have ever heard. The EU would have been one of the worst decisions the state could have made.

There are 1.2 million Armenians in Russia, to abandon Russia is to abandon them. EU-Wet dream is just that - a dream.

Also, joining the EU is not magically going to solve any problems. Look at Romania, its still as corrupt as ever.

Yup, to save the 1.2 million Armenians (not even thinking to bring them back), let's join some mediocre union and come back complaining that the 1.2 million have become 2
So the Armenians in Russia are the ones who govern every step Armenia takes. Lovely!

I will still stand up and resist if someone comes and tries to convince that my internal problems will be solved if I go knock europe's door.
I now firmly believe that maybe 90% of our problems are from inside our country, inside us. Something must be done about that.
Europe or Russia, blockade or open borders. Recognition of genocide or no recognition. However important, those things are not as crucial as Armenia's socio economic problems that are generated from bad government.

The difference between Russia and the EU is that Russia will never care about how corrupt any nation is as long as the leader of that nation is loyal to them.
Perfect examples: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan.
For how many years has Nazarbayev ruled? Aliyevs?
Does Russia ever hand out a loan with preconditions set? Do they track how the loan is spent and audit it? Never.
On the other hand, the EU carefully tracks where the money is going and how it's spent. Also, as corruption is fought, they come up with bigger loans and grants.
Tell me what are these Russian companies that control many sectors in Armenia are doing?
Have you heard about the railway company carrying out any projects? The rolling stocks are the ones from the USSR and in terrible condition.
I think I don't need to go over the famous electricity management the Russians were carrying out before the great Electric Yerevan movement hit the streets and sent them back to Russia.
Are you aware that last year when the Dram hit 575 from 412 vs $1 in a couple of hours, the Russian companies were buying Dollar from the Armenia market because there was no more Dollar being sold in Russia?
I agree that the problem is internal. But believe me that nothing will be solved unless these Armenian officials are overseen by someone.
Now the EEU is great for the corrupt officials, because it's very very lose on corruption compared to the AA/DCFTA agreement we were going to sign with the EU.
How does the EEU promote SMEs? It only promotes huge oligarch-owned companies that sell big amounts of products in Russia.

lmao man take it easy, just a modernized old AKM from 60x, our contractors are buying parts by themselves or getting it free from army if there is some, then building it by yourself

neither joining EU nor EEU nor NAFTA nor Shanghai Five nor Galactic Republic is going to solve Armenia's biggest problem, which is corruption and mismanagement of the state's resources and suppression of its potential.

It has to come from within. How this internal change with manifest, I don't know and it's a separate topic of debate. But as long as the ruling class are people who've had Soviet ideology towards the state ingrained in their head, we won't see the level of change needed.
