Seeing the body armor our boys are wearing makes me cringe.

Does anyone know what progress our domestic armor producing companies making in improving the bullet proof vests? The inner shoulder and upper chest areas are too exposed. Even a piece of shrapnel high the inner shoulder or upper thoracic area could easily be fatal on a battlefield.

I would consider this a much better design which should be feasible to adopt.

Now that's a trench. Have that all around our borders, fill it with land mines and razor wires with sensors. End of story! At least 90% end of story.
