We are not inviting so proprietary products that our allies are anxiously waiting to ship them in return to our impatient enemies. They are night visions that Russia was the first to mass manufacture and ship across the globe to consumers 20 years ago. You can buy hundreds for variations from Chinese websites for less than $500. You are worried the Azeris will end up with Armenian night visions or sensors? Most likely, the exported versions will be sold to the ex soviet countries.
The only reason these products are going to be manufactured, cause we need them. The export percentage will subsidize the internal needs.

Why not we sell machetes to the azeri because there is nothing proprietary about they as long as we make money.

Exactly. This kind of economic scaling is what we need more of. Armenia's requirements for arms are small but global market for arms is huge. Build 150 drones and keeping 30 for ourselves helps us offset the costs. Maybe not tanks, but small arms, light weapons, and sensors definitely.

I never said we should not sell them. I said have resale agreements.

Every country has such agreement which supersedes the manufacturers commercial interests.

If our weapons get into the hands of Azerbaijan, then that should be a good thing. We can know how much of what they can have, and keep track of them from the inside.

We cannot practically return the populated portions of these lands. We'd have to have the Armenian or Russian army pull our own people off their properties at gunpoint, which would be the very final straw to a bloody and effective revolution in Yerevan, which is in neither RU or AM's interest. If you've been to Artsakh, you know these are not weaklings, but hardened revolutionaries who will fight and fight viciously.

The ONLY possible settlement that I could see happen would be a carve out of some of the empty land contiguous with the existing AZ border, and an offer to allow the migration of Azeris who previously lived there to return. How in the world that would actually work is beyond me and entirely impractical-- how can you live next door to your mortal enemy who may very well come to murder you in the dark of night with an axe? Not going to happen.

Further, it's been 30 years. Will the IDPs actually want to return to their villages, or like most normal people, will they prefer to stay in the cities they have been temporarily sheltered at? There's 1.5 generations born since the war, they know nothing about Artsakh besides propaganda, and those cafes in Baku sure seem nice.

There is no settlement that will work. Only ethnic cleansing, which has already happened, and will not be allowed to happen again. Suck it, accept it, embrace it Aliyev.

If you give them any lands in the North the sultan will build cities left and right, offer free housing to intentionally overpopulate and surround us. We will go back to square one.
The logical option IF the government is pressured for some reason or another, will be to hand over lands in the South only. As a last minute bonus we will offer them a 1/2 mile passage zone to Nakhichevan.
I don’t trust turks nor do I care for their existence around us. If it is up to me, I say we take all the mountainous region to the north all the way to Georgia and tell them to go to hell.
After few generations their case will be as good as ours with turkey.

It will be still part of Armenia. Just a highway with tollway, they are not allowed to leave the tollway.
