I don't understand why we don't start using assault rifles made by Aspar Arm's. Why are we still using rusted AK's. I understand AK's are reliable but you need to incorporate new designs into the Armed Forces. Whilst you there throw some of these military leaders on a treadmill..

Whatever money we have to spend is better spent elsewhere. And i dont see any rust on those AK's...

I agree with you and the poster after you. However I feel we should start with homemade ammunition first. We have the rifles already, it's the ammo that might run out

Maybe a good investment for special forces soldiers to have modified personal weapons but its probably hard for the average soldier to assemble/dissassemble 100 different weapons with closed eyes.

Sefilian's men have taken hostage a police station in Erebuni at 5 AM. They asked people to come out to support them, but they do not understand that people are cautious about armed rebellions here. This will not help with their popularity. Taking policemen hostage at 5 AM does not make one better than the government which arrested Sefilian.

AK or AR are not only assault rifles they are commodities with their ammunitions. They are so reliable and mass produced that you cannot even come close on building anything in their price range.
Your typical AK by the time it is issued to some military at $200-$300 it will be around for 50+ years, will be traded across the globe with multiple governments and most likely they will see their grave yards in some miserable African or South American rebel groups. Also, Armenia makes its own ammunition for AK. Aspar Arms builds beautiful but mostly modified rifles that are nothing close to the AK “commodity” price rifle. Don’t underestimate the AK it is very reliable for harsh environments. The one thing it lacks is accuracy on the long range. I would take the AK any day for general defense.
