(1) are you willing to risk your (our) boys lives for a few dollars?
(2) we should be thinking ...
(3) losing a drone is an embarrassment.

(1) it is an assumption (your opinion) that we are "risking" our soldiers lives by utalizing the reasoning Hakob and others have expressed. In fact the ideas put forth by Hakob and other members is the exact opposite of endangering our troops, i.e.; to help their security and to enhance their effectiveness. Also the enormous and ludicrous cost of west's equipment can be overcome by creative thinking as Azad and Hacob have pointed out.
(2) sorry but I don't gaf about embarrassment, I'm looking for accomplishment in real time. Throw toys at them by the dozens as long as you get the target acquisition info or situational awareness needed in the timeframe needed.

We all have our opinions, and I personally like the ideas the other members have put forth. We may not have a lot of $$$, but we have brains. I think it's possible to win the battle with a good idea when a million $$$ can't pull it off.

I would add to that one of the best early warning signals that they are up to something is when they will start not to tolerate any of your "cheap" but effective drones in the sky.

They will use costly resources to bring them down and if we have enough of them cheaply made locally seem to be a winner.
Send them even dummys to keep them busy.

Russia has developed and successfully tested radio-electronic weapons systems unmatched anywhere in the world, RIA Novosti reports, citing the manufacturer.

"Real prototypes of such weapons have already been created and they have proven their efficiency,” a representative of Russia’s United Instrument Manufacturing Company (OPK), which is in charge of the production, told RIA Novosti.

The new technology falls under the somewhat loose term "weapons based on new physical principles." The grouping includes armaments that employ physical processes and phenomena not generally used in modern weapons. Laser and sonic weapons are among other examples of such technology.

According to the OPK representative, the brand-new Russian system is as yet unrivaled.

“This is a completely new type of weapon, which has no analogues in our country, and I daresay, in the world."

The announcement came during the ‘Arms High-tech’ military exhibition currently taking place in Armenia.
The state-of-the-art system is capable of disabling various types of targets without using the traditional rounds or shells.
Instead, the weapon uses ‘directed energy.’

"It conducts indirect physical impact on the on-board equipment of aircraft or drones and neutralizes precision-guided weapons," RIA quotes the OPK representative as saying.

The weapon was for the first time presented to Russian military officials in September this year during a closed performance at the annual military expo ‘Army 2016’ outside Moscow......

When you invest your money in good material you will get a good outcome. You can fail in both but chances are the cheaper stuff break a lot easier. These drones can be bought for a few hundred dollars from eBay. I can maybe spend a few hundred dollars more and put a better camera on them. We can't keep on saying we might not have dollars but brains. I'm not sure if you been to Armenia. Come and see how people live and you tell me if they got brains or if the people governing them have brains. See because we live in the Diaspora and the Armenian communities are intelligent , you automatically think the same goes for Armenia the nation. Wrong. Get your minds out of the sand and build new tech. These drones are not what military use. It's what Farmers use , or camera men.

We need to focus on gaining an advantage. Call me crazy , why can't we put launchers on our drones or weaponize them to lock targets and go in for the kill. We got brains right. Sometimes we need to think outside the box. Do something not many do. For e.g trenches are getting old. Tunnels are the way to go. Build a wall to stop the snipering. Germany after WW1 was a poor broken nation. No one expected its Military to bounce back the way it did. While Europe was sleeping Hitler created a war machine underground. Hate him or live him , that is a nationalist right there even though he was Austrian.We got the freedom to but we don't. If those plastic gadgets are our hi tech weapon systems then some people need to be fired. If you proud to have these as surveillance because we got brains , then you are mistaken sir , because we got no brains.
