Shouldn't we be using Goris airport for our su-25 it's much closer to Artsakh front line, and harder for Turkey to target. What do you guys think? We already have some in positioned in Gyumri, so why not Goris, or even jermuk?

that's a bold statement. Do you have anything to back it up with ? Otherwise, it sounds like you're trolling.

If Azerbaijan would like to destroy them they would risk hitting russian toys if they are in gyumri longer transport time for fuel and parts aswell. Armenia is so small cant take long for those planes to get to artsakh.

History is what backs me up. Armenia's borders have been repeatedly shelled and bombed with casualties and damage to border villages and Russia has not condemned Azerbaijan or said anything that an ally should. Instead, Russia sold weapons to Azerbaijan by which our borders were attacked!

In the end my statement is my personal opinion on the matter, I find Russia highly unreliable and do not expect or count on any superpower to give a single xxxx about Armenia's well being. You do not have to wave your dirty troll flag at people just because someone's not far up Russia's ass. Yes Russia is an ally, but an unreliable one. And if you think they'd ever sacrifice Russian lifes for the Armenian nation, then you're dangerously naive. All their troops are good for is threatening and guaranteeing security against Turkey (yes this is the single important necessity for Armenia) and murdering whole Armenian families.

If they really gave a xxxx they'd fully recognize Artsakh long ago and include it in security pacts.

For posters that always complain of Russia’s short coming, what is the logical alternative?
              - Rely only on ourselves to face 90 million turkic people?
              - Shift to the West that wants to hand over the whole Artsakh back to the azeris? The ones that do not even acknowledge there was a Genocide?
I am not sure if you think Armenia is so important to these superpower countries that they have to stop their self serving interest to become subservient to Armenia.
You want Russia to hand us free armaments, stay out of Armenia and demonize our enemies? I am sure you will still complain complain and more complaints.

Everything changes when it is about your national security. Azerbaijan and Iran have many unresolved issues that can erupt anytime.
                Can mention some of them.
                1) Mother of Shia countries. (Azerbaijain is trying to take the lead-The clerics of both countries don't get aligned)
                2) Northern Iran is claimed by Azerbaijan as southern Azerbaijan. (Main reason Iran doesn't want Armenia to return the 7 adjacent areas to Azerbaijan)
                3) Co-operations with Israel.
                4) Azerbaijan's ties with Sunni Turkey, as Turkey is trying to take all the Arab Middle eastern countries under its influence. (As well considering the tensions between Syria and Turkey)
                and many other..

I for one am not saying that we have any other choice than Russia, that's not the point. Unfortunately Russia is the only one that can offer any kind of real security and leverage on our turk enemies. But their attitude towards our independence and terms are total xxxx and needs to change or it will be bad for everyone in the long run.

                      .

Russia is an ally, ... for security.
An alliance is a partnership, give and take of sorts.

                      Lets see what we get
weapons, free or at subsidised prices
Security guarantees against NATO aggression, read Turkey

Additionally we get income from migrant workers
We offload our working age population to Russia because we cannot support them in an economical sense, jobs etc
Our corrupt government gets a safety valve for social injustices, ... the population migrates rather than revolt,

.... and occasionally go with a begging bowl to get loans to buy weapons from them.

Now I will let others list what we give in this give and take partnership.

Russia is another nation and country.
It has its own aspirations and threats.
The definition of an alliance is not a Catholic marriage but coincidence of common interests.
Once these cease to exist the whole purpose of that alliance ceases to exist.

That is why we must use this time in history where we have the security alliance to strengthen our country industrially,
militarily, culturally (national) and become a confident in all respects nation.

Rather we seem to indulge in coming up with more ideas how we can scavenge more from our military ally.

                      .
Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
Great politicians pursue the National interest and small politicians personal interests
