Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Russia to reportedly donate MiG-29 jets, T-72 tanks to Serbia

      December 23, 2016 - 09:58 AMT
PanARMENIAN.Net - Russia has agreed a major arms donation package with Serbia, following state meetings in Moscow on Wednesday, December 21, Jane's Defense Journal says.
The main part of the donation is for six surplus MiG-29 'Fulcrum' fighter aircraft, a long-standing requirement for the Serbian Air Force. Also included in the deal was a donation of 30 T-72 tanks and 30 BRDM-2 armoured reconnaissance vehicles.
Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu agreed on the donation on Wednesday, with the formal agreement document expected to be signed on December 23. Extensive discussions were also made over the donation or sale of air defence systems, with Serbia hoping to receive Buk-M2 and 2K22 Tunguska systems, however no sale was finalised. Instead the two parties agreed to continue talks with the expectation that an eventual arrangement will be made in 2017 or 2018, when Serbia is hoping to get a better procurement offer from Russia.
The MiG-29s are currently being decommissioned from the Russian Aerospace Forces and should be delivered to Serbia during 2017.
Russia's aircraft donation for Serbia includes one MiG-29A (9.12A) and three MiG-29S (9.13) single-seat fighters, plus a pair of twin-seat MiG-29UB (9.51) trainers. These aircraft are expected to need significant work on them to allow them to serve operationally with the Serbian Air Force until about 2030.
These aircraft are intended to strengthen Serbia's weakening air policing capabilities.
Currently Serbia can field three MiG-21UM twin-seat fighters modified to carry R-60 air-to-air missiles; a pair of more-modern MiG-29B (9.12B) single-seat fighters; and a sole MiG-29UB twin-seat trainer. All of these are stationed at Batajnica Air Base, near Belgrade. Serbia also has one more MiG-29B that has been grounded at Batajnica for many years.
The reason Serbia is getting those fighter jets and other goodies is that Russia wants to have a foothold in the Balkans and Serbia is their only option.
We will not get anything in a similar way.

The reason why they can uphold this is because they have total control over their media organs and will jail or exile you for reporting soldier deaths. Take for instance the April War where they announced only ~35 deaths while some opposition guy living in exile in Germany reported 100+ and that's only by the information he could gather (like Razm.info) that is being actively hidden.

Mix this tactic with Armenian transparency on soldier deaths that can't be hidden because Armenia is one big village with a plethora of news outlets and suddenly there's an illusion that we suffer as much, if not more casualties than Azerbaijan. Take for instance that dead Azeri whose body we now have. Azeris initially announced he was MIA and only did so because they realized that they left his body behind so it would look ridiculous to say they suffered no deaths. If they hadn't left the body behind, the illusion would be that Azeris killed 3 of ours and we only just claim that we killed 7 of them. And then imbeciles on Facebook go under Artsrun Hovhannisyan's announcements and ask for proof that we killed this or that number of Azeris as if they understand anything about war.

Things are being done. If they weren't being done, there would have been more April wars by now. Israel has a tiny border with Gaza, all the advantage you can dream of in terms of money, power, technology... yet Palestinians still manage to slip in every now and then. You can't control 100% of a border area as large as Tavush, there's always going to be slip ups. You just have to minimize them and try to retaliate relatively disproportionately to deter future raids.
        Excellent analysis

Does anybody know which types of rockets we have for our BM-21 units??? The range of the rockets varies extremly by type. There are rockets with a range of 15 km and rockets with a range of nearly 40 km.

I would rather we retire all of our Mi-24s, sell them, and use the savings/proceeds to finance ~24 SU-25s. They will be much more useful in combat as the hinds are really easy to bring down. The new SU-25 upgrade also has the ability to launch KH-52s. That would be HUGE.

Nothing will be flying between the two countries for a long time. We would need the Mi for rescue/support missions. Best to focus on heavy load drones under $50.000 price tag. I would guesstimate there is 50% probability for anything that flies into azeri territories to be shot down and 90% from our side for what goes up from their side.

                      9M22U if I remember correctly.

edit: Pretty sure it's 9M22U. You can see in one of the videos from the 4-Day War.
