Thought about it , more like dream about it .
    The economic downturn of "08" crushed me . In "07" I made $39,900 for a 10 month period . In "09" I made $22,000 !!! It got worse after that .
as long as I'm on this earth , Hayastan is where I long to be .
Tough luck for me , but at least Alaska has s Ime elbow room .

You can have the same elbow room in places like Artsakh or Syuniq or Gegharquniq. Lots of places.
And compared to Alaska the places are like heaven.
Also, I see a lot of programs here about Alaskans, like "life below zero" etc. What strikes me is that Alaskans are so much like Siberian Russians. Not too friendly, sometimes even hostile to outsiders.
Anyway, I will bet on friendliness of people in Armenia's villages. The more remote, more better. Their hospitality and closeness. Helping one another.
I have been there and that is my memories.
I have been thinking. What about when I retire, those SS checks will follow me to where I go right?
Then the best place is to go there, rent a small place and leave till the end. My kids can come and visit me.
I know, I can't get along with culture in cities.
Artashes, I advise you to travel to Armenia. Don't wait. You can purchase a thicket as low as $800, if you do in well advance. Don't stay in Yerevan. Take a transport and go to the most remote village in Artsakh.
Knock any door and say that you need a place to stay for a week or two.
        You will be surprised.
Maybe this experience could be life changing for you. Don't go there as a diasporan tourist that wants to see all the historic and cultural monuments in 10 days.
Do not worry about language barrier either. You will be amazed at how complete communication with locals will be.

Yes Artashes, you don’t want to be found in some coc sucking cabin dead for 2 weeks.
Time to move to Armenia and find yourself some sexy Armenian gal that will keep you warm under our stars.
Lets go! You can live like king on your SS. If you don't like it there, you can always go back to the Alaskan Cabin.
