Does anyone have any more information on this incident?

No, this is the first time I'm hearing about this interesting incident. The story about the Azeri deaths here sound more like it was a mass assassination than random casualties of war.

No, this is the first time I'm hearing about this interesting incident. The story about the Azeri deaths here sound more like it was a mass assassination than random casualties of war.

It's my first time as well and I made the same assumptions. I was wondering if anyone's ever heard of it. Meanwhile I found this article from a year ago by Day.az that has some info on the people killed on the helicopter. This must be one of the most successful assassinations in human history... so many important people dead in one attempt!

Monument erected for Azerbaijani helicopter crash victims

A monument has been erected for Azerbaijani prominent officials, who were killed in the helicopter crash in Garakand village on November 20, 1991.

People's artist Farhad Khalilov, head of Azerbaijan Artists' Union, told the APA that ahe author of the monument is sculptor Khanlar Ahmadov.

Khalilov said the place of the monument is being defined at present. Soon Experts Council will define the place of erected monument.

19 persons, including interior minister Mahammad Asadov, prosecutor general Ismat Gayibov, state secretary Tofig Ismayilov, his assistant Rafig Mammadov, USSR Supreme Soviet's deputies Vali Mammadov, Zulfu Hajiyev, President Office's department chief Osman Mirzoyev, operator Fakhraddin Shahbazov, Arif Huseynzadeh, some leading officials of Nagorno Karabakh Autonomous Region, military observers from Russia and Kazakhstan were killed in the helicopter crash in Garakand village, Khojavand on November 20, 1991.

The main version is that Armenians stroke the helicopter.

Soldier of Azerbaijani Army Perishes

Azerbaijan, Barda, November 21/ Trend News, corr S. Jaliloglu/ A soldier of the Azerbaijani army has perished today.

Soldier Vahid Agalarov, serving at a military unit in Beylagan region, was shot dead as a result of the violation of ceasefire by the Armed Forces of Armenia at early morning of November 21. Agalarov, 19, who was called to a military service from the Military Commissariat of Ganja city, received a serious wound at his chest.

The dead body of soldier has been handed over to his family. The calls to the Ministry of Defense were not returned.

Soldier of Azerbaijani Army kills his fellow soldier and wounds another one

A soldier of Azerbaijani Army in N military unit of the Defense Ministry in Beylagan Region shot dead his fellow soldier and wounded another one with his duty gun on Thursday, APA Karabakh bureau reports.

Press officer of the Defense Ministry Eldar Sabiroglu confirmed the fact to APA. Sabiroglu said Mammadov Hazan Murtazim oglu, 19 registered at the Yevlakh Region Military Commissariat in May, 2008 killed his fellow soldier Gasimov samir Akbar oglu and wounded his twin brother Gasimov Zaur Akbar oglu. The wounded soldier was taken to the hospital in hard condition. Hazan Mammadov was arrested. A criminal case was launched on the fact and investigation is going on.

I scanned a nice photo of Artsakh commandos that took care of the "azeri" attack a few days ago from the local weekly newspaper here. They look badass. Enjoy!

Today on the Armenian v on zinuj they were talking about the Azerbaijan attacks was really interesting to see it all. And to hear how one of our soldiers who was there and fought when the Azeris attacked.

They showed some of the footage and almost the same things was being said and they also showed the soldiers getting medals and one other captain and his group getting a gun for the captain and watches for the rest of them?
