            • This explains why the azeris were not at the NATO training in Georgia. Not sure if I like where this is going.

" Azerbaijan Threatens to Cut Off Military Cooperation With US and NATO

Azerbaijan has threatened to cut off its military cooperation with the West in response to escalating pressure on Baku for its human rights violations. But that threat may ring hollow in light of Azerbaijan's declining importance for Western militaries.

United States Senator Richard Durbin on September 7 proposed sanctions against Azerbaijan. The move would bar entry into the U.S. of officials deemed connected to the imprisonment of Mehman Aliyev, the director of Turan, Azerbaijan's only independent news agency.

An article in the official newspaper Azerbaycan tied that proposal to a recent big investigative report showing the scale of Azerbaijani corruption in Europe; the article blamed "Soros-backed forces and the Armenian lobby" for "rush[ing] to make efforts to spoil the US-Azerbaijani relations and strategic partnership."

Why? They're upset that their corruption and schemes are being brought to light and want to use this very little thing in hopes that Western Governments can overlook any prosecution or asset seizure that is coming their way. NATO never considered Azerbaijan an "ally." It was always a transit country into Afghanistan and a need to pump oil. Now that most of these projects are tapped, there is no need for Azerbaijan.

Did you think they helped Azerbaijan because NATO is against Armenia? Be sure, Armenia is probably their best ally on the region. Even if the Georgians throw everything they have at NATO, we're still more suitable with cooperate with the West and bridge the between East and West.

I hope their assets get seized and strict sanctions on Azeri leadership is imposed. xxxx them. They're an enemy of democracy and liberalism.

                • As you can see how larger powers treat smaller countries (be it Russia or NATO) why bother kissing NATO exclusively?
I say we stick 80% with Russia militarily and 20% with others. The economy is open to all, as long it benefits Armenia.
Last thing we need a pro Russian turkic countries on both sides. If we fall for NATO they will hand over Artsakh to gain the two turkic countries over.

                    • Bro there will never be a pro Turkish government in Russia or a pro Russian government in Turkey, its all politicing. Russian and Turks are natural enemies Russkies will never let go of Armenia no matter what. If something seriously bad happens to Armenia the only country that will be badly effected is Russia. If Armenia gets into real danger youll have more Russians fighting for Armenia than you will have diasporans. Trust me on that.
