Russian military base in Armenia takes part in competition among special units of Southern Military District
Special forces of the Russian military base in Armenia are taking part in competition among special units of the Southern Military District. The events take place at the Daryal training ground, North Ossetia-Alania.
During a fortnight, servicemen are competing in individual and team categories in tactical, fire, engineer, medical and alpine training at the Daryal training ground in North Ossetia-Alania. They demonstrate their skills in reconnaissance, orienteering by a map, making ambushes, seizing classified documents and digging up information, retreating to forest and mountainous area, transmitting target data to artillery units using the Strelets reconnaissance, control and signal complex to eliminate hostile objects.
More than 500 troops of the SMD Special forces are involved in the event at the Daryal training ground. Some 100 servicemen of them are from the Russian military base stationed in Armenia.
