In a nutshell, Moscow's message to Armenia is simple: If Yerevan continues its policy of rapprochement with NATO, the Kremlin will toughen its stance on Armenia and, quite possibly, revisit the issue to return some of the territories adjacent to Nagorno Karabakh to Azerbaijan."

Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
Great politicians pursue the National interest and small politicians personal interests

First of all, we have a weak stand on Artsakh. Our stand on Artsakh should be the same as of turkey’s stand on Western Armenia. Ignore, it happened in the past and move on. We do not need to constantly bring up and comply with something that is not an issue for us Armenians.
Nikol should be every naive not to understand that Putin and his money entourage have indirect interest and investments in different companies in Armenia. Structures put in place during Kocharyan presidency. He should back off and focus on building a new economy and stop being the police of what happened in the past.
In the business world, be it in the West or the East it is all about concessions, interest and indirect investments. He even managed to irritate Ruben Vartanyan. Nikol has a banal puritan socialist views and has an issue with wealthy people, as in they all are corrupt for being wealthy.
turkish rapprochement with Russia is dragging its azeri cousin along, pocking and harassing Armenia. All Nikol does what Saakashvili did (15) some years ago. If he continues he might even end up like him. The West cares less of these far away small countries that could be used only for their energy, energy routes interest. Well, destroying their environment with mining as well.

"bodygaurds to be disarmed." For someone in the most important office of the country, should not be dealing or worring of street thugs if they should or not be armed. This is micromanagement as in no one in all layers underneath him can make that decisions.
