Helicopter pilots train to engage ground targets during flight tactical drills in Armenia
Young pilots of the Russian army aviation in Erebuni, Armenia, trained to engage ground targets during the flight drills.
In combat missions, the pilots carried out take-off, exercises over the airfield, a flight to the high-altitude Alagyaz polygon, where they piloted and interacted with motorized rifle divisions in assigned missions, returned back to the airfield and landed.
Mi-24P and Mi-8MTV helicopters in pairs and flights jointly with ground troops in reconnaisance-strike systems trained to fire non-guided missiles.
The flight drills involved some 300 servicemen (pilots, ground support teams and motorised rifle units), and over 50 pieces of military and aviation hardware.
