Irakli Aladashvili: Azeris can perform acts of sabotage in Georgia as in the 1990
Georgian military expert and editor in chief of an independent military-analytical journal "Arsenal" Irakli Aladashvili confirmed the statements of Armenian military that the Air Force Armenia can conduct combat operations within a radius of 250-350 km, that is in the rear of Azerbaijan.

In an interview with the Azerbaijani news agency "Vesti.az", he said:
"The Armenian armed forces consisting mainly Su-25. Their range of about 250-350 km. So I think that the statements are true of the Armenian military. "

Speaking about the situation that may arise in the event of renewed hostilities in the region of Karabakh conflict expert expressed confidence that the armed conflict is unlikely to last more than a few days - it will be forced to close under pressure from international organizations and countries such as Turkey, Russia and the United States.

Georgian expert expressed concern that in case of the Armenian-Azerbaijani war, "Georgia will not be able to stay away." He recalled that on the Georgian territory densely populated by Azerbaijanis and Armenians. "Besides, I do not rule out fighting on the border of the three South Caucasus states, for example, in the so-called" Red Bridge ". There are shootings and gun "- said Irakli Aladashvili.

At the same time, he did not rule out the use of local Georgian population. "For example, the Azerbaijanis living in Georgia can conduct diversionary actions on the tracks, leading to Armenia", - he said, recalling that in the 90's, there were similar cases.

Georgian expert believes that the Armenians, in turn, may take action against the oil pipeline running from Azerbaijan through Georgia.

In summary, Irakli Aladashvili said that as a military journalist who covered several wars, he knows - there's nothing worse than war. "The main thing - to avoid war, especially because of our war of 2008" - said the Georgian expert.

If true, this can explain why we received the SMERCH systems. In the end, Azerbaijanis pay for it, we get it for free. Basically Russians are screwing the Azerbaijanis, as everytime they try to shift the balance of power on their side, spending huge sums of their income into obtaining weapons, Russians just deliver Armenians weapons so the balance of powers remains the same.

Peak oil has been reached anyway, and in a few years they will have to do without their oil income, and as they lack the brain capacity, time is on our side (if the corrupt Aliyev who eats all the money remains in power).

In Azerbaijan, for 5 months of oil production declined by more than 1 million tons
        2011 June 20 (Monday) 12:17:36
        (Views 55)

In January-May 2011, Azerbaijan produced 19 million 995.1 thousand tons of oil (including condensate), which is 1 million 67.3 thousand tons, or 5% less than in the comparable period last year. It is reported in a monthly report to Goskomstat Azerbaijan.
The decline in oil production due to the fact that the main earner of raw materials in the country - BP-Azerbaijan conducts routine maintenance work on offshore platforms, "Chirag" and "Central Azeri".
During this time, Azerbaijan produced and 10 billion m3 of natural gas 725.4 billion (at 271.1 million m3, or 2.6% less).
It is worth noting in this period significantly - to 426.9 million m3, or 5.9% - were reduced volumes of marketable gas production, as Azerbaijan was faced with its implementation at both the domestic and foreign markets (Turkey has dramatically reduced volume of purchases - Ed.).
        * In 2010, Azerbaijan produced 50.8 million tons of oil and 16.3 billion m3 of gas

            Armenia Claims Military Drone Manufacturing

U.S. -- A MQ-1 Predator drone aircraft in flight at an undiclosed location, undated
            20.06.2011
            Sargis Harutyunyan

Armenia manufactures and supplies its armed forces with unmanned military aircraft capable of flying deep into enemy territory, the deputy commander of the country’s small air force said over the weekend.

“We have quite serious unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), even those capable of carrying out objectives deep inside enemy territory,” Colonel Armen Mkrtchian told journalists. “They are made in Armenia.”

“Having said that, we do not rule out the possibility of acquiring foreign-made ones, including for mere comparison,” he said. “After all, you can tell apart good and bad things through comparison.”

Mkrtchian refused to give any details of domestic drone manufacturing, which exists only in a limited number of countries. He would not say if Armenian-made UAVs are designed only for surveillance missions or air strikes as well.

That the Armenian military is equipped with domestically designed and manufactured drones has been claimed by some local defense analysts in the last few years. Mkrtchian’s remarks are the first official confirmation of these assertions.

Armenia’s arch-foe Azerbaijan is known to have UAVs. It purchased them from Israel until recently. An Azerbaijani-Israeli joint venture reportedly began assembling drones in Azerbaijan earlier this year.

Over the past decade Azerbaijan has also acquired dozens of conventional military aircraft as part of an ongoing military build-up. Its air force is now thought to have numerical superiority over its Armenian adversary.

Both Mkrtchian and Artsrun Hovannisian, an Armenian Defense Ministry expert, downplayed that advantage. They claimed that Baku’s air capability is grossly inflated and that it would be of little use to the Azerbaijani army in case of another war for Nagorno-Karabakh.

Mkrtchian also said that the Armenian airforce has received “quite sophisticated and precise air strike means” that put it in a position to wage offensive warfare. “In the last 19 years, we have gone through a very difficult process of military training,” he said. “Our pilots are today ready to carry out flights at night and in difficult meteorological conditions. They are ready for any actions in any place and at any moment.”

“Just like developed NATO countries, we are ready to carry out targeted strikes on any enemy target, economic facility and the like,” the official added without elaborating.

                Armenia Joining the Drone Wars?
                June 20, 2011 - 1:45pm, by Joshua Kucera
                The Bug Pit Armenia
Armenia is producing unmanned drones for military use, the country's deputy air force commander has said, according to RFERL:

“We have quite serious unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), even those capable of carrying out objectives deep inside enemy territory,” Colonel Armen Mkrtchian told journalists. “They are made in Armenia.”

Mkrtchian refused to give any details of domestic drone manufacturing, which exists only in a limited number of countries. He would not say if Armenian-made UAVs are designed only for surveillance missions or air strikes as well.
This is the first time Armenia has publicly said it has drones, which this report calls "official confirmation" of what had been rumors for a long time. But rival Azerbaijan -- which already uses drones close to the line of contact over the disputed territory of Nagorno Karabakh -- and Armenia seem to take opposite tacks when it comes to discussing their military buildups. Azerbaijan brags about how much it is spending on new defense systems, while Armenia slyly drops rumors that it, too, is keeping up. But both approaches lend themselves to exaggeration -- and the little amount of information that Armenia has "confirmed" here seems like it might be part of a disinformation campaign.

But it could just as likely be true. Armenia would be joining a rapidly growing list of drone manufacturers -- and doing its best to keep up with Azerbaijan.

It might be as small as you say but it is no toy like Vardan ‘s post.

First look at the right wing. That tube you see sticking out is a probe much like the ones on the SU-25 nose. It is used for accurate airspeed and altitude indication. Second there is a caster in the nose gear, which could mean it taxis and its ground taxi is controlled by differential braking. The mockup of the propeller suggests a constant speed prop. Lastly notice the relationship between the size of the black Gimbal sticking of the bottom of the UAV and the size of the UAV itself.

Now unless this is a small UAV with a miniature Gimbal that is only taking scenic pictures bellow......a normal size UAV Gimbal that is worth anything is about this big.

Concerning the economic, energetic and Strategic significance of the liberated territories, and specially on the Arax valley lowlands, there was a very documented and interesting article in Armenian recently.
                      It treated specially the mineral and hydrocarbon potential of these regions;
But it by passed the hydro/energetic aspect.

Lets remind that the value of the homeland is not proportional to its economic value, but this point may be important for the capitalist oligarchs making decisions for a five millenium old nation.
                      So let them think again, and be reminded that the water of the Arax may well be worthless, for their pockets too..;

There is a brand new barrage on the Arax built between NKR and Iran, since 2009, in Khod-Aperin, well know for its 2 historic bridges, still standing on the bridge destroyer Arax.
It is 9 Km Long (similar to the Sarsang reservoir of Mardakert), but more importantly it is the only bridge between Iran and both Armenian states (NKR+RA) that is undistructible, in case of air or terrorist attacks by the Turks, since it is on a iron/concrete platina.
The energetic production is not huge, but significant.
More importantly, it controls the flows of the Arax, and in a couple of decades, this water will be worth much more than all the remaining Gaz of Baku (at that time, there won't be any oil left). The value of that water is so huge, that Iran takes the risk to built this kind of dam, even ignoring the will of our leaders to keep the control of these lands...
Not only they ended the construction of this dam, wich was already built 80% during soviet period, but they began the construction of a second one just after the historic bridges (see Google earth). This new project alone is hundreds of millions worth...
Let's not remind the projected dam in Meghri, with a more energetic orientation.

But the hydro/energetic potential of the liberated territories is only slightly presented by this huge dam already functing.
Let us remind, that the UNIQUE WATER BASIN of a middle range river 100% in Armenian hands is the VOROTAN BASIN (40% RA, 60% NKR Kashatagh region).
All other Rivers of Armenia, are partially or mostly controlled by the enemies: Akhurian, Teped, Aghsdev, Arax, etc..., and controlling a basin is essential, for evident reasons.(Hraztan basin is not considered, since Hrasdan is less of a river, than a channel steeling the Sevan strategic reservoir)
The part of the Vorotan in the RA (40% of the Bassin) produces nearly 50% of Armenia's hydro electricity effectively (Spantarian, Champ, Dolors, Datev GES), so not hard to imagine the remaining potential in Kachatagh.

But let's not forget, that NKR has still the Drdou(Tartar) basin's upper part, wich is much more promising than the previous one, and with little political and economic will, we can built at least 2 or 3 major dams like the Sarsang in Karvajar district alone... The debit of the river is the bigest in Eastern Armenia, and given the narrow gorges of the Karvajar, the economic efficiency is evident...

There are also secondary rivers like the Khatchen, Ishkhanaked and the Gargar... with a little dam on the Khatchen already built in soviet period.
But these are meant more for irrigational potential, wich is by no means ridicule, since agricultural production may be trippeled if irrigation is organised with a little of management and will.

Till now, only the Sarsang dam with 2 turbines dating soviet period is reshaped, and 3 new little turbines are placed on the the little affluent of the Drdou near Sarsang.
But the rest of the potential is still there to be exploited, and that is much more, than all the existing hydro generation in RA to this day.

If we do not use it, the enemy will surely do....
