- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

First look at the right wing. That tube you see sticking out is a probe much like the ones on the SU-25 nose. It is used for accurate airspeed and altitude indication. Second there is a caster in the nose gear, which could mean it taxis and its ground taxi is controlled by differential braking. The mockup of the propeller suggests a constant speed prop. Lastly notice the relationship between the size of the black Gimbal sticking of the bottom of the UAV and the size of the UAV itself.

Now unless this is a small UAV with a miniature Gimbal that is only taking scenic pictures bellow......a normal size UAV Gimbal that is worth anything is about this big.

Political scientist: Syndrome of cemetery for Armenian military
            21.06.2011 21:28

Political scientist, Director of Center for Political Innovation and Technology Mubariz Ahmedoglu

The reaction of Armenia to our words within the "Hour of Karabakh" project dedicated to the war that has no analogue was predictable. Naturally, this does not matter whether they refer to us, because the idea is original and was made public by a single source. In other words, another contender for the authorship of this idea can not be.

We believe that the Armenian troops and Armenians in general have the ambitions to own heaven and earth. There are such people in Azerbaijan as well. But the majority of Azerbaijani politicians in the context of this topic are limited to the possession of Nagorno-Karabakh, Zangezur and Irevan. In the near future, Nagorno-Karabakh and Zangezur can satisfy our ambitions.
We know the hype about the sale of arms to Iran by Georgia in early 2010. Then there were rumors that for the Georgian-Iranian arms sales, Armenia has received a transit fee with nature, that is with weapons.
Further, information spread that in Georgia there are 40 Israeli-made unmanned aircrafts, which later "disappeared". But we also remember the spread of information that suddenly 15 of the Israeli-made unmanned aircrafts appeared in Armenia.

We want to bring to the attention of the Armenian military, who held a press conference, that their current words about the power of the Armenian army seem weaker than the words of Defense Minister Seyran Ohanian, who told them about a year ago at this time.
Last year, after the above exchange of weapons, Ohanian said that the Armenian army was never close to victory, like now.

After the Azerbaijani Air Forces conducted military exercises on the line of contact, it became clear that the air defense system of Armenians is working inefficiently.
We wish to inform the public of Armenia that by the end of this year, the Ministry of Defence Industry of Azerbaijan will produce 60 unmanned aircrafts, but this does not mean that there are 60 unmanned aircrafts in Azerbaijan. The number of unmanned aircrafts is about one hundred.
On the other hand, the Azerbaijani side establishes Internet along the entire line of contact. Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan started placing modern tracking devices and computers with modern tracking software in these territories.

As a result of permanent and long-term observations on the line of contact, all the Armenian troops and their conversations are recorded. If necessary, the unmanned aircrafts from a height of 50, 100 or several hundred meters can monitor and transmit the exact coordinates to the small-caliber guns and correct their shootings.

Let us more clarify for the Armenians: the result of the Kazan meeting is not so important for us; the important thing is the beginning of the practical stage of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement. The beginning of this process will be counted from the moment when the Armenian troops begin to withdraw from the territory of Azerbaijan.
Let us say more clearly to Armenians: after this, the line of contact will turn into a cemetery for Armenian military.

From this point of view, we say to the Armenian citizens: do not send your children to military service in Karabakh, and come and take away those who are there.

We have some information about what was written about systems "Scud" and "Smerch". The Armenian press information about the "Scud" is nothing rather than a myth. It is not even a children's myth, but a purely Armenian myth.

But in Armenia, there are four "Smerch". "Smerch" is a weapon of Russia, which Armenians consider their strategic partner. The Armenians bought "Smerch" in China and transported through Iran. Armenia has had "Smerch" for approximately eight years.
What we have said on the application of information technologies in conjunction with communications and unmanned aircraft is just the initial phase of work. There are more opportunities for improvement and development.

With Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's much-anticipated Kazan pow-wow with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan just days away, one senior Azerbaijani politician has a message he's eager to share with you: Might makes right.

When Azerbaijan parades its military might on Army Day on June 26, “[o]nce more everyone will see the change in correlation of power in favor of Azerbaijan in every direction,” declared ruling Yeni Azerbaijan Party Deputy Executive Secretary Mubariz Gurbanli. “The moral, psychological, economic, social and political superiority of our nation will convince external forces to put pressure on Armenia."

And let's not forget economic muscle. Armenia can invest all it wants in its economy, Gurbanli claimed, but it will never compare with hydrocarbon-rich Azerbaijan. Why? As News.az paraphrased it: "The reason is the dynamic development of Azerbaijan and the economic strength of our country."

The timing of Gurbanli's observations is not accidental. The Army Day display comes a day after the Kazan summit, an event at which Azerbaijan, conceivably, intends to parade its diplomatic might as well. Some analysts have gone into orbit over expectations for the summit, characterized as everything from a last chance for Karabakh peacemaking to a chance for a mega-breakthrough.

But in this macho match, Armenia has its own words of warning. Last week, the deputy commander of Armenia's air force announced that Armenia has manufactured its own "quite serious unmanned aerial vehicles" that will let it, "like developed NATO countries," make "targeted strikes on any enemy target, economic facility and the like."

Call it a draw for now?

Here are a few examples. We really can't tell until we get more info on Armenian made UAV.

Strike (Hunter) UAV, wing span 9 meters

                    Recon UAV
Artillery Targeting and Acquisition, Control of Close Air Support, Reconnaissance and Surveillance, Battle Damage Assessment, Search and Rescue, Psychological Operations. Wing span 5.2 meters

Regardless of what is being used for (from battlefield surveilance launched by soldiers themselves, to pilot flown remote controlled large UAVs carrying weapons with a skyball that can read your license plate) the sky ball (Gimbal/Turret assemble and its electronic black boxes) are the most important and critical part of an UAV. Some have radar imaging, infrared, and a zoom that can look inside your home window. That is where the technology is at.

Excess weapons and military equipment from Russian military base in Gyumri, Armenia will be transferred free of charge
                      21.06.2011, 17:43

The Russian military base in Armenia translated into a brigade system of recruitment, it serves to 4.25 thousand people

Reorganization stationed in Armenia, the 102nd Russian military base did not affect the combat readiness of its parts, said head of the military cooperation between the Russian Defense Ministry with the CIS states, Colonel Andrei Gusev at the meeting of the Federation Council on Defense and Security.

"Russian military base in Armenia has moved to a brigade system. Now its population of 4 245 thousand people, including 370 - and 500 military personnel - civilian experts" - said A. Gusev senators, who considered on Tuesday a federal law on ratification of the protocol between Russia and Armenia on the Russian military base stationed in the republic.

Gusev noted that the optimization of the base did not affect the combat readiness of units. "The personnel of the base is ready to perform the tasks as intended, including as part of the joint Russian-Armenian troops," - said the colonel.

When asked senators to be redeploy surplus weapons and equipment, a representative of the Ministry of Defense said that they will be sent to the Armed Forces of Armenia on a pro bono basis.

The head of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security Viktor Ozerov said that the ratification of the protocol will further strengthen political and military cooperation between Russia and Armenia, and it meets Russia's interests.

"Our committee recommended that the Council approve the Federation Federal Law" On Ratification of the Protocol between Russia and Armenia on Amendments to the agreement on Russian military base in the republic on March 16, 1995 "adopted by the Duma," - he said.

The Russian military base stationed in Gyumri under a bilateral agreement between Moscow and Yerevan of 1995. The protocol on Russian military base stationed in Armenia provides, inter alia, extending her stay in the country from 25 to 49 years with automatic extension for the next five-year periods. The base is designed to perform peacekeeping tasks and to act as a deterrent against possible aggression from the outside in conjunction with the Armenian armed forces in a united group of forces of two countries.
