Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!


2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

      Russia's Credibility And Its Military Sales To Azerbaijan

      With Azerbaijan's confirmation of its purchase of a new air defense system from Russia, the S-300, by displaying it at its Armed Forces Day parade in Baku a few weeks ago, it "instantly becomes the most capable SAM [surface-to-air missile] system in the region," writes air defense analyst Sean O'Connor in the latest edition of the IMINT & Analysis newsletter.

      The most intriguing part of the sale is that Azerbaijan's foe, Armenia, is a strong military ally of Russia; Russia stations troops at a big base in Gyumri, Armenia, and supplies heavily discounted weapons to the Armenian forces (and by extension, the Armenians who control the breakaway Azerbaijani territory of Nagorno Karabakh). All that, no doubt, was part of the reason that Russia denied that the sale had taken place, only to be proven wrong in a flashy parade in central Baku:

      Regardless of Russia’s motivations for keeping the sale out of the public eye, Rosoboronexport’s public denial of the contract represents an interesting occurrence. On one hand, Rosoboronexport’s implications may have been completely accurate if a complete contract did not exist at the time of announcement. Finalization of the contract and subsequent non-announcement to temper Armenian concerns represents a logical course of action in that regard. On the other hand, however, the following statement represents a factual description of the Azeri Favorit situation: the press reported a sale, Rosoboronexport denied a sale, and Rosoboronexport then delivered Favorit components to Azerbaijan.

      This incident will serve to cast doubt upon any future denials of Russian military sales to foreign states, leaving observers to ask the question: “what is really going on?”
      There is an ongoing debate about whether Russia, through the mechanism of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, would intervene on Armenia's side in the case of a war with Azerbaijan over Karabakh. If so, Russian missiles -- and more importantly, planes and pilots -- would then face the prospect of being shot down by Russian air defense systems. But O'Connor notices an interesting detail: the new systems will have a range large enough to cover Nagorno Karabakh, but not the Russian military base in northern Armenia:

      Azerbaijan currently operates two S-200 (SA-5 GAMMON) batteries near Baku and Mingechaur; the S-300PMU-2 represents a logical replacement for these systems offering coverage of the majority of the nation. Furthermore, deployment of the Favorit batteries at S-200 complexes offers coverage of the entire Nagorno-Karabakh region and the bulk of Armenia, while conveniently leaving the Russian military complexes near Gyumri out of reach.

              Գործնականում տեղի է ունեցել այն, ինչին ավելի վաղ ձգտում էին Սաուդյան Արաբիան, մի շարք արաբական պետություններ, այդ թվում Եգիպտոսը և ԱՄՆ-ն, այն է՝ Թուրքիայի մերձավորարևելյան էքսպանսիայի դեմ հուսալի պատ է ստեղծվել, որը դարձավ Սիրիան: Վերջին 7-8 տարիներին Թուրքիայի և Սիրիայի հարաբերությունները հաջողությամբ զարգանում էին, որը չէր կարող չանհանգստացնել ԱՄՆ-ին ու արաբական պետություններին: Այդ հարաբերություններն այժմ քանդված են և ամենայն հավանականությամբ՝ շատ երկար ժամանակով: Սիրիական էլիտան զգաց, թե ինչ է նշանակում Թուրքիայի գթասրտությունն ու մտադրությունները: Թուրքիան քանի դեռ չի անցել “շիա գոտու” վրայով, հնարավորություն չի ունենա ամրապնդվել տարածաշրջանում: Միաժամանակ, անվստահության ու թշնամանքի անդունդ է առաջացել նաև Իրանի ու Թուրքիայի միջև:

              Այժմ դժվար է գնահատել արաբական մյուս պետություններում հեղափոխությունների հետևանքը Թուրքիայի հեռանկարների համար, սակայն Եգիպտոսում ու Սիրիայում տեղի ունեցածը կհանգեցնի տարածաշրջանում Թուրքիայի մեկուսացմանը: Իհարկե, հենց Մերձավոր Արևելքում է դրված ԱՄՆ և Թուրքիայի տարածաշրջանային քաղաքականության գլխավոր խաղադրույքները, սակայն կարևոր է նաև Սև ծով-Կովկաս ուղղությունը: Թուրքիան վերջին մի քանի ամիսներին զգացել է, որ առանց ԱՄՆ աջակցության ու մասնակցության ունակ չէ իրականացնել իր աշխարհաքաղաքական ծրագրերը և ԱՄՆ հետ սեփական դիրքորոշումը համաձայնեցնելու որոշում է ընդունել: Կասկած չկա, որ Թուրքիան չի հրաժարվի տարածաշրջանային էքսպանսիոն քաղաքականությունից, սակայն կփորձի իր շահերը համադրել ԱՄՆ շահերի հետ: Թուրքիան “ատամները կրճտացնելով է” ընդունել ԱՄՆ առաջարկը` Սև ծովում նրա ներկայությունն ուժեղացնելու վերաբերյալ, սակայն համոզվել է, որ զսպվածությունից ոչինչ չի շահել: ԱՄՆ-ն մեկ անգամ էլ ցույց տվեց, որ մտադիր է իրականացնել իր նպատակները Սև ծովում այլ գործընկերների հետ, սակայն առանց Թուրքիայի անմիջական մասնակցության:

              Սեւծովյան ավազանի ծրագրերից Թուրքիային դուրս մղելն էլ ԱՄՆ քաղաքականության ու “Երրորդ ուժի” կազմավորման քաղաքականության իմաստն է: ԱՄՆ այս մտադրություններն ու գործողություններն էլ բերեցին Ռուսաստանի ու Թուրքիայի միջև համագործակցության, քանի որ Անկարան զգաց, որ ավելի լավ է ԱՄՆ քաղաքականությանը համակերպվել, քան առճակատման մեջ մտնել: Այս ամենը պետք է իմաստավորեն այն պետություններն ու կառավարությունները, որոնք դեռևս անտեսում են աշխարհաքաղաքական իրականությունը և քաղաքական վերլուծությունը որպես այդպիսին:

              Օգտվելով առիթից, կցանկանայի ասել հետևյալը: Հայաստանը, գտնվելով բավական բարդ աշխարհաքաղաքական իրավիճակում, պետք է մեծ հետաքրքրությամբ մոտենա Նուո-Հաուին և աջակցի նորագույն մշակումներով զբաղվող ոչ մեծ խմբերին: Հայաստանում մի խումբ էնտուզիաստ կենսաբանների ու ֆիզիկոսների խումբ ստեղծել է մի նյութ, որն ունակ է մեծ արագությամբ տարածել իր ազդեցությունը նավթամուղերի պարունակության վրա: Ընդ որում, անկախ դինամիկայից, նրանցում պարունակվող նավթը շատ կարճ ժամանակում ամուր նյութի է վերածվում: Դրա համար բավական է խողովակի վրա մի փոքր անցք բացել: Նավթահորերի, տերմինալների և պոմպային կայանների ոչնչացման համար Հայաստանի զինված ուժերի հնարավորությունները բավարար չեն: Անհրաժեշտ է ապահովել էներգակոմունիկացիների գծային ոչնչացում, որն անհնար կլինի վերականգնել: Ներկայում գազատարներ ոչնչացնելու ծրագրեր են մշակվում, որն ավելի մեծ աջակցության կարիք ունի: Հայաստանի իշխանության ներկայիս բարեհոգի վերաբերմունքը, որը հույսը դրել է հարվածելու սովորական միջոցներին, հանցավոր է, ասել է Իգոր Մուրադյանը:

                      On 1 russian military web-site it says that armenia buyed 10 new russian made su27,and now they are in gyumri aire base
