/PanARMENIAN.Net/ ‘Aramo’ detachment commander Aram Torgomyan and his companions in arms met with representatives of youth organizations to tell what a high price the Armenian people had to pay for liberation of Artsakh.

“No one will dare to cede a meter of Armenian land. We performed no small feat and offered diplomats and politicians to take a final decision,” Torgomyan said.

“With handmade and hunting rifles we defeated a well-equipped army. Now, our task will be much easier,” he stressed. “Armenia must prosper and it will prosper.”

ARMENIA: YEREVAN BUYING RUSSIAN ARMS AT CSTO DISCOUNT

Russia is selling guns at a discounted price to its budget-conscious allies Armenia and Belarus under membership provisions of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), a Moscow-led counterweight to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the Arminfo news agency reported.

"Agreements on the basic principles of military and technical cooperation within the framework of the CSTO are fully effective and include supplying military hardware to CSTO states at a privileged price," CSTO spokesperson Vitaly Strugovets told Arminfo. He added that Belarus and Armenia are making effective use of the opportunity.

The volume of orders for Russian weaponry and materiel tripled between 2007 and 2008, Strugovets said.

Five soldiers shot dead in result of careless gun handling - UPDATED

Day.Az reports with reference to APA that a soldier of the Azerbaijani armed forces as a result of careless handling of weapons shot five his five fellows.

Names of the soldiers, killed in the Seyfali polygon at 11:00 on May 23 have been divulged.

Soldier Orkhan Sharifov killed soldiers Taleh Hidayatov, Ramin Atashov and Shahriyar Hasanov and wounded Punhan Hasanov and Mustafa Sayfulov by firing from a gun at a training centre of the Defense Ministry's military unit N near the Seyfali village in the Shamkir region, the Interior Ministry told Trend News on May 25.

Soldier Safarov was arrested. The Military Prosecutor is holding preliminary investigation.

The Agjabadi Region Military Commissariat called Safarov to a military service in January 2008, the Defense Ministry reported.

According to unofficial data, before the case, Safarov always underwent undisciplined actions and insult by the persons whom he killed

Junior sergeant of armed forces of Azerbaijan Orkhan Safarov, who opened fire on his fellows was arrested during the exercise, reported spokesman forthe Defense Ministry Eldar Sabiroglu Monday.

"The incident really occured", said E. Sabiroglu, confirmed that troops shot one other.

"A criminal proceeding has been instituted. Junior sergeant Orkhan Safarov was arrested and the investigation will find out on what grounds he committed this crime", said E. Sabiroglu.

The incident occurred during training exercises at the Seyfali in the Shamkir district.

The four soldiers, according to the ANS, died wounds, another was delivered in critical condition to Ganja military hospital.

According to APA, 20-year-old Orkhan Tofig oglu Safarov shot his fellows.

According to the agency, one of the dead soldiers was Ravil Atashov.

you know its inevitable that somehow they blame Armenia for this like they blamed Armenia for the oil academy shooting. His parents were of Armenian descent, the Armenians paid him to kill the troops, etc. azeris r going to torture this kid until he says Armenia was responsible.

It's an effective strategy that I think is based on the 'Big Lie' propaganda technique.

They are associating everything that is terrible and that brings bad images to one's head with Armenia and Armenians.

Mass food poisoning at one of Azerbaijani military units - PHOTO - UPDATED

Mass poisoning occurred at one of the military units of Mushvigabad village of Garadagh settlement of Baku.

Currently, ambulances are delivering the victims to the hospitals of Baku, including Central Military Clinical Hospital, Trend News correspondent informs from the scene.

According to him, a large group of soldiers were released from the Central Military Clinical Hospital after a preliminary examination.

Chief physician of the First Aid Hospital named after Musa Nagiyev Tofig Suleymanov said it was an ordinary food poisoning and condition of the soldiers taken to the hospital, is stable.

Trend News correspondent reported from the spot that 11 soldiers previously placed in the First Aid Hospital are transferred to the Central Military Clinical Hospital.

No other information was available atthe military unit and health care facilities.

According to the correspondent of Trend News from the Central Clinical Hospital, Wednesday morning, six buses with soldiers whose state is assessed as satisfactory, drove away from the medical facility.

There is still no information about the number of victims of poisoning in the military unit.

Trend News correspondent reports from the military unit in Mushvigabad that Deputy Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan Chingiz Mamedov arrived on the spot.

The food included in the soldiers' food allowance in the the military unit is now being examined.
