I want to start my 1st post with 2 ideas on the topic that's being discussed.

        1. http://milaz.info/en/news.php?id=7373 This link shows the Azeri Defense minister denying the issue of the F-16 sale to his country

        2. I'm no military expert, but I'm pretty sure that the US military regulations require the selling procedure of any American weapon (in this case the F-16s) by a secondary party (in this case turkey) to a third party (in this case azerbaijan) to be approved 1st by the US congress. To make it simple, Turkey cannot sell a single bullet that reads "made in the US" unless the congress approves it. So, I don't see how azerbaijan can recieve US made weapons from turkey or from anyone else, unless there's an OK from washington. Which in this case I don't see it to be realistic.

as far as i understand su-27 is an offensive fighter, to gain air superiority, why would we need it in the first place? Armenia is not gonna attack anyone anytime soon. MiG-29 seems like the more logical choice.

right but if azeris get f16s we must buy some su27s not mig29,we have already too much s300 + russian migs in gyumri, so better buy some attack, anyway su27 will be good choice

Its not only a possiblity of having Su-27's but also S-400's........S-400's are much better choice...

Armenian landscape must look like a Porcupine....yea lets errect more missiles instead getting jets.

If Azerbaijan attacks we need to finish this once and for all, unless we like this freaking status quo......for that to happen we need aircraft, missiles ain't gonna do it people.

I don't think the Russian Migs will get involved in renewed war with Azerbaijan......SU-27s are great and I agree with that choice

If Azerbaijan attacks us (giving us casus belli) we have to embark on a heavy bombing campaign on the areas near the border, but especially near their energy interests (pipelines). We have some good fighter jets, but we need more bomber planes. We have some good missiles also. The thing is, if they attack us, we have to be defensive of course, but we can't look timid. We need to show them that this will be their last stand, f*ck what the West will say, they and their people will get punished severely if they dare touch our land.

We should also be prepared for a possible attack on us from Naxijevan. They proclaim Yerevan is an Azeri city, so they will stop at nothing. In my view, in 1994, we should have finished them off. They military at that point was totally destroyed, we should have used the momentum to totally destroy that country so it would take decades to rebuild. It's a typical war tactic, but of course there was a lot of outside pressure, I won't deny that.

I think Armenia has not much choice, destroying Azerbaijan is not an option. I'm afraid this will go on for decades, until geopolitics get different somehow.
