Aghdam. Teymour Zahidoghlu – APA. An Armenian soldier, who crossed the Azerbaijan’s border, was captured at about 20.30 on July 15 in Mormor village of Gadabay region of Azerbaijan bordering with Armenia, APA Karabakh bureau reports.

14-year old villager Fariz Nabiyev met an unknown soldier with suspicious behavior while tending sheep in the area. The young shepherd identified that he is an Armenian soldier, rendered him harmless and handed to the Azerbaijani military servicemen. It is not clear yet why the Armenian soldier crossed the Azerbaijani borders.

There is no official comment on the incident yet.

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Currently regional population size in NKR Kashatagh region comprises about 8000 people.

According to Kashatagh regional administration head Kamo Martirosyan , population rate in the region has been increasing since October 2008. “Birth rate is 5 times the death rate in NKR Kashatagh region. Besides, population size is growing because of settlement rate increase,” Kamo Martirosyan stated.

According to him, NKR authorities are taking their best effort to relieve population’s social situation. “Villagers are provided with interest free credits to conduct agriculture works. In September 2009 they will be given credit for the purchase of cattle,” Kamo Martirosyan said.

Administration head emphasized current issues are mainly connected with lodging provision, infrastructure development, roads’ and communications’ restoration, and water supply provision. “We’re actively collaborating with RA’s Syunik and Vayots Dzor regions, 46 schools and 33 first-aid posts are operating in Armenia,” Kamo Martirosyan noted, PanARMENIAN.Net journalist reported from Kashatagh.

Found it and scanned it from the political supplement of an Armenian magazine called 'Horizon' that re-printed Mr. Taarnby's research. The picture is printed within the article, right above the 'Combat' section that mentions "Further documents were recovered by the Armenians after the battle in Goradis and Zangelan..."

CSTO not to engage in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement

Collective Security Treaty Organization is ready to participate in possible peacekeeping operations in Nagorno-Karabakh, CSTO Kyrgyz expert said .

He said CSTO participation in the peacekeeping operations is more real because deployment of Western contingent in the region will provoke negative reaction from Iran.

“Karabakh conflict is a complicated conflict where interests of difficult countries are crossing. It is an ethnic conflict which embodies confrontation of religious views. CSTO is a multinational institution which unites both Muslim and Christian countries," he said

CSTO is not involved in the military conflicts like NATO. I consider that CSTO is only military and political organization able to provide peace and stability around Nagorno-Karabakh. If Azerbaijan joins this treaty, CSTO participation in the regional peacekeeping operations will be more real, the expert said.

Look, I know nothing about the role of Afghans in the war b/w Azeris and Armenians, but I wouldn't make any interpretations based on a photo sent by someone without any further info.

i think u should read the article posted above by Federate. Post number 784-788.
Why do azeris always try and play down the assistance they recieved from foreign countries? They were helped by afghans, chechens, ukranians, russians, turks, etc. We admit we were helped by the russians. azeris dont even talk about how they forced Avars, Tashkurs, and Lezgins to fight in the war? There is alot of evidence out there that shows azeris were helped by all those people.
