Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

hahahaha, do you know what the last war was? Do you?! You're talking like a child here. In the last war we fought against the world not only the Azeris. We had no support, non until 1993 when Russia started supporting us. Do you know we had no military and what our men went trough in those days. Do you know what the winter of 93 means. That's equal to hell in Hayastan. Grain was shipped from Iran so the people could have some food that was our only open border.

I think some people will never understand it what it was. And you start talking about Turkey and that they weren't involved they were ready to invade and destroy Armenia in 1993. So please before you make retarded threads like this stop and think about it.

It is painfully obvious that he doesn't know much (even on mundane Armenian topics such as the dram exchange rate - see http://forum.hyeclub.com/showthread.php?t=11707&page=2).
Perhaps you can chalk his ignorance to a lack of world experience, or maybe his brain is a little numb.

...either way, when it comes to grave matters such as Armenia and Artsakh's security and general Armenian politics, ara87 should opt for someone else to do his thinking for him.

With that said, he seems like a good and sincere guy, so I hope he does not continue to make an ass out himself in future posts.

        Is Karabakh Worth it?

Obviously a very sensitive question, Some would brand me a traitor for even thinking up such a question.

I have been to karabakh and its beauty is pristine, its unmatched by anyplace in the world however we are sacrificing the development of Armenia proper. Karabakh is more symbolic than historically strategic, its time to look at things through the lens of time.

Consider this.... Armenia has posted double-digit growth in its GDP despite 75% of the borders being under blockade. Our economy and advancements are easily comparable with Georgia who has friendly relations (maybe too friendly) with both azerbaijan and turkey, has access to the Black Sea and hosts two major gas/oil pipelines. The diaspora is truely contributing to the development of our nation however it is nothing close to what it could be if we had neighbourly relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan. For a minute lets be realists and consider that there are 70 MILLION turks in Turkey and 30 Million Azeri's in Azerbaijan proper and Iran. Ofcourse it is hard for any armenian to swallow their pride but perhaps we would be better of embracing our Turkic neighbours. After all, look at the relaitonship between Japan and the U.S. and they Nuked them for god sake. Personally, I am for a strong and well developed Armenia no matter how small that may be. We are not really waiting anything out by clinging to Russia amd if (god forbid) a war of a magnitude occured that would redraw the borders of the caucasus and middle east, 3 Million Armenians are not going to end up with anything, let alone what we have now.

I think we should drop karabakh, embrace Turkey and Azerbaijan, profit as much as we can from their oil wealth and geo-political stance and wait for
the Kurds to fight the turks and the Azeri's will one day fight the Iranians..... If Armenia befriends the two turkic countries then we dont have any enemies left. From that position we can grow, but not from the position we have currently.

Hold on to Dynamite long enough and its going to blow up in your face. Sometimes concessions must be made.

you, my friend, should read the rest of this thread, and probably also this one: http://forum.hyeclub.com/showthread.php?t=11485

We aren't in a position where we must make concessions in order to survive, quite the contrary, if we make concessions it will be the beginning of the end.

                      Re: Buy N.K./Artsakh?

You eastern armenians are so f*ing Sovietized its disgusting. Russia is our ally yegher, hahah, Russia is our Dominatrix. They LOVE that we don't get along with Turks that makes us need them like a junky needs heroin. Actually, Russia is the only country benefiting in any tangible way from the Artsakh conflict.

Actually you might be a very settled western armenian who is living to comfortably to understand the way things are working in Armenia.

You are willing to give up the long-term interests of our Country for the short-term "pride" we gain from artsakh.

To me you are the one who isn't the Armenian. If you want an Isolated Armenia then take your dashnak friends and start your own country.

Other than that, There are us Armenians who want a stable and prosperous country, not in danger by our neighbours.
All you think about is an idealized mass of land that we dont have the capacity to develop nor defend.
