Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

In terms of net exports of oil Russia is number 2 behind saudi arabia and there are some indicators that they may be number 1 soon.

For the first time in more than 600 years, Armenia is free and independent, and we are therefore obligated
to place our national interests ahead of our personal gains or aspirations.

Your right i have gone over everything already in much detail including why russia wants this deal to happen. Russia owns thus controls most of the infastructure in Hayastan. By haveing the oil, among other things, pass through Armenia it takes full control of it reaching turckey and the west. Russia will make a lot of money because the infastructure being used is owned mostly by it but more importantly it has its hands around Turckey's and Azeri's throats, meaning it can control both countries better now since it controls the oil flow. Armenia is a partowner of the infastructure with russia thus it will make money too and all these roads, pipelines.. will create many much needed jobs in Armenia to build and maintain them. All sides benefit from this deal, especialy Russia.

Whatever happened to Serge promising to only go to Turkey if the border is opened? The border is still closed and Serge was greeted with flowers and Turkish music.

you have good and ;ogical point of view or analysis here but again here even if i agree with you one can't help to think why did Russia after it bought the Iran-Armenia Gas infrastructure insisted to make the pipes smaller in order to not to let Iran to deliver gas to Europe from that pipelines now that pipeline is kinda limited couldn't have Russia let it to be bigger make it to have potential to deliver Gas to Euroope although it minght not do it in the present but in that case would have eliminated an chance Iran delivering Gas to Europe through Turkey and have the oportunity also to control the Iranian gas delivary.

Iran is one of the competing forces in the region along with russia and turckey and russia doesnt want to give its competator more then it needs to. The Iranian pipeline is to guerentee gas supply to Armenia in case of resumption of war in Georgia.

I remember reading an article debating why the border opening would matter since he would be traveling by plane and Bursa being too far by land. The border opening still has a long way to go. Turkey is still pretty likely not to pass the protocols and Erdogan (even though it was for propaganda) said one day after the signing that border will not open until Artsakh resolution. Not only does Armenia give in to other peoples' preconditions but fails to keep its own ones.

Dashnaks To Defy Ban On Next Yerevan Rally

The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun) said on Wednesday that it will defy a government ban and again rally supporters in Yerevan this week in protest against the controversial Turkish-Armenian agreements.
In accordance with Armenia’s law on public gatherings, Dashnaktsutyun notified the municipal authorities last week about its intention to hold the rally in Charles Aznavour square in downtown Yerevan on Friday. The municipality said on Tuesday that it can not be authorized because another even has already been scheduled to take place in the same place and on the same day.

Vahan Hovannisian, a Dashnaktsutyun leader, rejected the explanation and said the authorities failed to offer an alternative venue for the protest, as is required by the law. “They only verbally informed us that some other, children’s event is to take place there at the same time,” he said. “And when we said that we can hold it elsewhere, they said, ‘We will organize an event there too.’”

Hovannisian claimed that the authorities are thus keen to prevent the Dashnaktsutyun rally at any cost. “We cannot reckon with such a desire,” he told a news conference.

Thousands of people, most of them Dashnaktsutyun supporters, marched through the city center last Friday to condemn the two Turkish-Armenian protocols that were signed the next day. Dashnaktsutyun and its influential chapter in Armenian communities around the world have rejected the deal as a sellout. They are particularly opposed to its provisions that commit Armenia to recognizing its existing border with Turkey and agreeing to a joint study of the 1915 mass killings of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire.

Hovannisian also criticized Sarkisian for accepting Turkish President Abdullah Gul’s invitation to visit Turkey for Wednesday’s soccer game between the two countries’ national teams. He said the Turkish side has failed to meet Sarkisian’s earlier conditions for the trip.

The Armenian president said throughout this summer that he will accept travel to Turkey if Ankara lifts its 16-year economic blockade of Armenia or is at least “on the verge” of doing that.

The Dashnaktsutyun leader insisted that the reopening of the Turkish-Armenian border, envisaged by one of the signed protocols, is still not on the cards, citing statements to that effect made by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and other Turkish leaders.

“If [the Armenian authorities] are ready to make other concessions to make border opening imminent and inevitable, then this is the subject of a separate conversation,” said Hovannisian. “But I think the conditions set by the president were not satisfied.”

The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun) said on Wednesday that it will defy a government ban and again rally supporters in Yerevan this week in protest against the controversial Turkish-Armenian agreements.

Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
