    Re: Another Church/enough already

So how many churches are there in Armenia?

At the beginning of the 20th century, there was approximately 210 monasteries, 700 monastic churches, and 1639 parish churches. This doesn't even include Armenian churches outside the Patriarchate's jurisdiction - such as those belonging to Armenian Protestants or those in the Kars region which was then part of the Russian empire. It also doesn't include the many hundreds of abandoned medieval churches and monasteries in eastern Turkey.

Oh, this is a pretty good site for Armenian architecture. http://www.virtualani.org/beyondani.htm

We definitely lost tons to Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia and Mr. Karapetyan has been one of the fiercest opponents of the destruction of our architecture in each of these countries. He has payed special attention to Northern Artsakh where there is not a lot of information about our former presence.

Anyway, for a breakdown of all the Armenian churches in the world (at least those that are notable), I recommend these two boxes on Wikipedia. Click on "show" on the right of the box if it does not show you the churches.

I think you could better use the money on a road, a much needed railway, perhaps build a new home or a business for someone?
