Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

      Iranian-Turkish relations:

Since August 2008, when Ahmadinejad made an official visit to meet with Turkey’s president and prime minister, Turkey and Iran have begun to formalize political relations. During Ahmadinejad’s visit, the two countries’ presidents signed five memorandums of understanding on security cooperation, combating organized crime, economic cooperation, and education.[53] In January 2009, Iranian Parliamentary Speaker Ali Larijani made an official visit to meet with Turkish President Abdullah Gul, and in March 2009, Gul attended the summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization in Tehran. The two countries have declared 2009 the “Iran-Turkey Culture Year” and began holding cultural relations conferences since January 2009.[54]

In late October 2009, Iranian Vice President Mohammed-Reza Rahimi officially welcomed Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Tehran. Erdogan discussed the increasing ties between Turkey and Iran with a number of high-ranking Iranian officials. He highlighted Turkish-Iranian confluence of interests in regional developments, saying the two countries’ roles in Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine complete each other. [58] In a meeting with Edrogan, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said that “Iran-Turkey cooperation can strengthen security in the region.”[59] In response to Turkey’s cancellation of the Turkey-Israel joint military exercise and its call for further cooperation among Islamic countries to help Gazans, Larijani praised Ankara’s stance on Palestinian and Gazan issues and said that taking these approaches improves Turkey’s position in the region and in the Islamic world.

n December 2009, Iranian and Turkish military forces coordinated together to fight guerrilla separatists of the Kurdistan Worker’s Party along the Turkish border with Iran and Iraq

In October 2009, Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdrogan, exposed divisions in NATO by accusing the west of treating Iran unfairly over its nuclear program.[4] Erdrogan insisted that Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, whom he described as a friend, had no interest in building an atomic bomb, arguing that “there is a style of approach which is not very fair because those who accuse Iran of pursuing nuclear weapons have very strong nuclear infrastructures and they don’t deny that.”

Iran's parliament (Majlis) speaker has described Tehran-Ankara relations as “strategic,” saying both sides must work to tap into potentials for greater cooperation.

“Key measures should be adopted to further strengthen bilateral brotherly ties in all areas,” Ali Larijani told Turkish President Abdullah Gul and his entourage in Tehran.

“The ground is prepared for Iran-Turkey joint investment in various areas, especially oil and gas as well as infrastructural projects,” a parliamentary communique quoted Larijani as saying on Tuesday.

Larijani underlined that the Iranian parliament has a “very positive view” towards promotion of friendly relations with Turkey, and “supports any move aimed at the expansion of bilateral relations on all fronts.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, Larijani thanked Turkey for its stance vis-à-vis regional issues, particularly the question of Palestine and Iran's nuclear program.

“Strategic cooperation between the two countries contributes to regional and global peace and stability,” said the parliamentarian.

Larijani also described the current developments in the region as “very sensitive and strategic,” and added, “World powers do not want to see the will of nations take hold in the current developments.”

The visiting Turkish president, in turn, touched upon age-old, friendly relations between the two nations, and called for further promotion of mutual economic trade cooperation.

“The obstacles to the expansion of mutual cooperation should be removed,” said the Turkish head of state.

He then reiterated Ankara's backing for Tehran's nuclear stance, and stressed that Iran's nuclear issue should be settled through dialog.

“Turkey will press ahead with its efforts on this path,” Gul said.

He also described the January negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 Group in Istanbul as “fruitful,” adding that Iran and Turkey will continue their consultations in that regard.

Meh, Iranian-Turkish relations are overrated. The words strategic and brotherly are passed around more than Pamela Anderson after she became American.

You keep trying to disclaim the importance of Iran-Armenia ties by throwing Turkey in the mix so the same can be said about Russia.

Iran-Armenian relations are important at the economic level (esp for Armenia) but Armenia's strategic and political relations lay elsewhere. I mean after all we wouldn't want to take lessons about laws and government from Iran They marry off 9 year olds and ban music in schools for God's sake. Not to mention that stoning is an approved punishment technique. Persians may have a rich culture, but the laws and regulations in place are really backwards - Armenia in comparison is like the Netherlands.

Those things are facts, you think I'm making it up? Saudi Arabia has some pretty sick things to, like marrying of small girls to 60 year old men.
