RPA’s ideology not racism

Ethnic religion is a healthy nationalist ideology. But for Garegin Nzhdeh, with his so-called “racist” ideology, Highland Armenia would not have been declared and Zangezur would not have been liberated from Turks. But for Nzhdeh, modern-day Armenia would not exist now, and Levon Ter-Petrosyan would not have worked in Matenadaran, Razmik Zohrabyan, Vice-Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), told journalists on Nov. 12, commenting on the first Armenian president Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s claim that the RPA has a racist ideology.
According to him, the RPA’s ideology is not a racist one. “Our ideology founded by Garegin Nzhdeh is an ethnic religion, and it cannot in any way be called racist. This ideology has existed since Nzhdeh’s time, but Armenia’s first president has, for some reason, recalled it now,” Zohrabyan said. “It is because ten or fifteen days ago, an Azerbaijani representative in PACE addressed Cavusoglu, claiming that Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s thoughts are racist and fascist ones. Azerbaijanis were going to file a suit against the Armenian President, accusing him of causing uttering racist thoughts and insulting the Azeri people,” he said.
The Azerbaijani press has regularly addressed the subject, whereas the Armenian press has hardly done it. However, for this information to become available to the public the speaker Levon Ter-Petrosyan was to appear and express the thoughts of Azeri political figures. “That is Ter-Petrosyan became an Azeri speaker, ‘broadcasting’ all the anti-Armenian statements by Azerbaijan for Armenia,” Zohrabyan said.
NEWS.am reminds readers that Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan only outlined the real situation in connection with absurd claims by representatives of the Aliyev clan at the service of its “scholars”: without any attacks and insults President Serzh Sargsyan (in contrast to Ilham Aliyev, who called Armenians fascists and robbers at the Azeri Government’s meeting), pointed out that Azerbaijani cannot determine their own national identity – they consider themselves now Turks now of Parthian roots.
