- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Re: Exposing ArmeniaNow, biased Western-backed political anti-Armenian media outlets.

EVERYBODY, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THIS ANTI-ARMENIAN ARTICLE, WRITTEN BY NEOCON/ISRAEL LOBBYIST, MICHAEL RUBIN

Note the website, which it was posted on, is a fiercly pro-Israel/neo con one. Just look at some of their other articles. These neocons/right wing israel supporters are one of our biggest enemies!

    What’s Wrong with Armenia?
    Michael Rubin 04.22.2011 - 7:45 AM

Every year, efforts by the Armenian Diaspora in the United States to win formal Congressional and Presidential recognition of the Armenian Genocide culminate on April 24, the date Armenians mark as their Genocide Remembrance Day. It’s a hot-button issue which historians still debate. Genocide scholars and Armenian historians declare that deliberate genocide occurred, while many Turkish historians and Ottoman specialists question argue that Ottoman officials did not conduct premeditated genocide, but rather that between 600,000 and 1.5 million Armenians died in the fog of war. Regardless, the deaths of so many are a tragedy, and one that should not be forgotten. Still, questions and aspersions of denial and negation will only be settled when both the Turks and Armenians open their archives to everyone without regard to nationality or ethnicity.

I do not deny the sensitivity of the genocide issue, but Armenian American organizations are doing both themselves and U.S. national security a disservice by making the genocide issue the community’s marquee issue. History must be respected, but the future is as important as the past—if not more so. To the present day, Turkey and Armenia remain adversaries. Traditionally, the American alliance with Turkey has driven a wedge between Washington and Yerevan. Sadly, Armenia remains largely antagonistic to the United States. In 2009, Armenia voted with the United States on important issues at the United Nations less than half the time; In contrast, Israel voted with the United States 100% of the time.

Armenia has also embraced Iran to the detriment of U.S. interests and security. Armenia has even reportedly supplied Iran with weapons, which the Islamic Republic used to kill Americans.

It is long past time for Armenian organizations in the United States and the congressmen who partner with them to demand change in Armenian behavior. By ignoring Armenia’s orientation, the Armenian American community squanders an unprecedented opportunity to build a true partnership. Turkey has transformed from an ally into an adversary. From a strictly realist perspective, never before have the constellations oriented in such a favorable way to make the United States receptive to Armenia, should Armenia seize the opportunity. Yet the Armenian community in the United States appears asleep at the switch. It need not drop its interest in the genocide resolution, but it might nevertheless prioritize strengthening the diplomatic and strategic partnership between Washington and Yerevan. That partnership, however, will not develop if the Armenian Diaspora cannot convince its cousins in the Armenian homeland that a successful Armenian state could be a military, security, economic, and diplomatic partner to the United States—not a proxy for Iran or a puppet to Russia. Perhaps it’s time for the good Congressmen and Congresswomen from California and New Jersey to push back the next time Armenian lobbyists come knocking on their doors.

Saw this. Disgusting. It should be titled "Armenia should live to serve the US and Israel". The article was so wrong in so many different ways....much like the neo-cons.

He's basically saying that for US to recognise Genocide, Armenia has to become a Georgia-like vassal to America. F*ck them! We will do what is best for our country and if that means allying with Iran or giving them weapons, so be it!

I agree. Both the US and Israel have nothing to offer Armenia. In fact, they actively support our enemies. US aid to Armenian is very minor and the majority of the money ends up back in DC in the pockets of Beltway Bandits. As seen by events in August 2008, the US have lost a lot of leverage in the region

US aid is basically aid from the Armenian Lobby. If it wasn't for that lobby there would be close to no aid. Caucasus is Russia's backyard, US should really stay out.

                Western corruption in Armenia.

You Have Waited 20 Years; Wait a Bit More
                Edik Baghdasaryan

                18:34, April 13, 2011
The following is Hetq Chief Editor Edik Baghdasaryan ’s response to the letter of UNCHR representative Damtew Dessalegne regarding the Kasakh refugee housing issue. (See: UNHCR ’s Office in Armenia Responds to Hetq Coverage on Kasakh Housing Snafu)

Thanks for your response even though it was somewhat surprising, given that our letter to you dated February 15 of this year remains unanswered. Perhaps, if you had answered it, these “inaccuracies” might not have occurred.

We are aware that the United Nations is turning into a much closed structure when information regarding its programs is requested, especially financial data. Now, we will present the situation to readers to make it more understandable.

Refugees forcibly evicted from their homes in Baku, Sumgait and elsewhere, for whom the building was planned, have been waiting for twenty years, and all the while living in terrible conditions. And now, lo and behold, come the United Nations representatives telling them that a social house is being constructed and that they will be guaranteed apartments.

In a grand ceremony that took place in June, 2010, in the village of Kasakh on the outskirts of Yerevan, twenty refugee families were told that the hose was being built for them and that they could now move in. Many of the refugees are elderly. They seemed to have sighed a breath of relief, knowing that their last days would be spent in comfortable apartments. Soon, it will be one year to the day of that ceremony. The refugees are still residing in their old quarters. The doors to their new homes remain shut. The reason is that the floors are cement and dangerous cracks have appeared on the walls – so dangerous in fact that they were told not to move in.

In our two articles, we wrote about the one finished house with twenty apartments. Another house, with twenty-five apartments, has yet to be finished. We did not write about this one. And so, the United Nations spent $1million to build that first house. It was constructed upon the foundation of an older commercial structure; i.e. a new foundation was not excavated.

$760,000 of the $1 million was paid for by Japanese taxpayers. Now, these Japanese need assistance themselves. Today, one can purchase a two room apartment in Kasakh for around $25,000. For $50,000, you can buy a private house and some land.

I would like to direct a question to the representatives of the United Nations. Weren’t there any experts at the United Nations to propose such a solution to the housing issue of twenty families?

More importantly, have you ascertained how that $1 million was actually spent on the construction of that ill-fated building? It doesn’t even have normal floors!

Specialists have appraised the work done at around $600,000.

Mr. Damtew Dessalegne, in your reply you still haven’t set a definite date as to when the refugees can move in. All you state is, “as soon as possible”. We can state categorically that in this case, “as soon as possible”, will drag on for at least another year, even if work to fix the problem starts tomorrow.

You cite the following two reasons why people have yet to be relocated, and I quote:

“First, this delay had to do with the required paper work for right of use agreements between the authorities and the beneficiaries. Second, in the meantime, we noticed some cracks on the walls of the building.”

I would suggest that there is one overriding actual reason – it is too dangerous to live there. Hopefully, you are aware of this.

Dear Mr. Dessalegne, I know that this project was completed before your appointment to Armenia. Nevertheless, those responsible for this untenable situation remain the government of Armenia and the UN’s Armenian Office.

In closing, let me inform you that representatives of the editorial office periodically visit Kasakh and will continue to pay close attention to the issue.

So you think that exposing corruption in the mafia-led Armenian construction industry that has led to precious funds being wasted and housing that is too badly constructed to be used is an example of "Anti-Armenianism". What goes on inside YOUR corrupt brain?

No, this is not an example of anti-Armenianism. I just want to show that even organizations like "OSCE", "PACE", "UN", "UNESCO", are corrupt and biased, even though most of them are led by the oh-so-democratic, peaceful and human rights loving Westerners.

Armenians have to realize we have to cope with the situation in our country by ourselves, that the West/Europeans do not care about human rights, or about democracy (this was clear when they supported LTP), they care only for their own interest. We seem to "understand" this when it comes to Russia, but when it comes to the corrupt, biased West (USA), we believe they act in act of goodwill. This is not the case. They are bloodthirsty imperialists. How they handled the Arab revolts showed this again for the 1000th time.

In the past the genocidal Western imperialists used "Christianity" to conquer the world, manipulate people and steal from others, now it is notion of "democracy" they are misusing for this purpose. It's basically the same xxxx, but in a different package.

Whom am I talking to anyways? Some of your quotes, bell-the-cat.

-Don't let Armenians close enough to sting you - no matter how friendly they at first appear, they will, in the end, try to sting you - even if it means harming themselves more than it harms you.

-My advice to anyone (including Armenians!) wanting to associate with Armenians is to always remember the words of a French Armenian who (based on his 30 years experience of trying to work with Armenian organisations to promote Armenian issues) warned me saying "watch out, 90% of Armenians are absolute bastards". Even though that 90% figure is an exaggeration, it is still good advice, since few will disagree that the absolute bastards make the most noise in every field of Armenian life, including online.

-That joke of a country called Armenia (after the police inquired emo’s, being afraid of the suicide rates among them)

-ArmeniaNow is the ONLY credible independant news source left in Armenia.

-Armenian history when written by Armenians is often not credible, every claim should be regarded with suspicion.

-Armenians shoot themselves in their feet so often I'm surprised they haven't evolved to walk on their hands instead.

-My advice to everyone: never trust anything an Armenian says about the Armenian Genocide, and only a fool stakes their reputation on evidence provided by Armenians.

-Though, if I were to extrapolate from my experience of dealing with Armenians, I'd say that if you are not getting death threats from idiots or extremists then you are doing it wrong.

                    alas, bell-the-cat

So your brain is confused rather than corrupt? Haven't you and your cronies in this stupid thread been directing your tirades against HETQ, ArmeniaNow, et al., and now you actually dare to start to quote from HETQ to prove some other stupid point! It just shows how confused and childish your thought processes are.
