What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

“EU has opened its doors and Armenia passes through it”

The Armenian-European Policy and Legal Advice Centre together with the International center for human development has organized a conference titled “Participation in European integration.”

Head of delegation of the European Commission in Armenia Ambassador Raul de Luzenberger noticed that Armenian now is in its 4th year of the operation of the project of the European Union. According to the Ambassador it is a very important round.

“I believe that the policy of the European Union is a big project with all the question marks that were put by the civic society. The main goals have been achieved. The final purpose of the project was to make the member countries closer to Europe,” Raul de Luzenberger said.

According to the ambassador the attention towards the European Integration has grown greatly and intensification of relations is noticed.

“European Union has opened its doors and Armenia is passing through it. And we surely have the wish to integrate the Armenian civic society into the European one. We are interested with the real holding a real dialogue and wait for such a dialogue,” Raul de Luzenberger said.

The head of the Armenian-European Policy and Legal Advice Centre Alexei Sekarev mentioned that this conference is aimed at finding out how different layers of the society partake in the European integration.

“When the action plan between the European Union and Armenia was confirmed the movement got a new breath. Within the two years we worked with the executive body in Yerevan and out of it. We worked openly with the civic society both in the capital and in regions,” A. Sekarev said.

Well we are approaching EU integration by still having good relations with Russia. Our strategic ties are solidly with Russia, our ties with EU don't have to do with military or strategic, more political and social. Russia has no problem with this, as even they are moving towards EU, with also EU moving towards them because they are heavily dependent on Russian gas (e.g. look at German,French relations with Russia).

Very true. Armenia can further integrate with the EU in a social, economic capacity and have strategic relations with Russia. The EU is not a military alliance.

Russian scholar: Europe supports Armenia in Nagorno-Karabakh peace process

            April 25, 2011 | 14:03

The Middle East and Caucasus are priority regions for the world. However, the fact of Muslim Turkey posing as a democratic state creates numerous problems in terms of conflict between Islam and democracy, Prof. Vladimir Gutorov, Head of Chair of. Theory and Philosophy of Politics, Saint Petersburg University, said at an international conference on Armenian-Turkish relations.

Armenia is a country of European type, which makes many of the European nations support the Armenian side`s position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and on the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey. On the other hand, Ankara is supportive of Azerbaijan`s position.

YEREVAN, April 29. /ARKA/. Armenia and EU will sign declaration which will indicate the main directions of reforms in the country, said EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule.

Armenians see EU as important partner, poll finds

                    09-05-2011

Almost three quarters of Armenians see the European Union as an important partner, with most also having a positive image of the EU. More and more Armenians also feel that the EU promotes good governance and peace and stability in the country. These were just some of the findings to emerge in the third in a series of polls carried out at six-month intervals between December 2009 and November 2010. The results are part of the EU-funded Opinion Polling and Research (OPPOL) project, funded under the 2007-2010 European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) regional information and communication programme.

The three waves of opinion polls summarize the outcomes of 400 interviews with members of the general public in Armenia, and are designed to generate better information about awareness, understanding and perception of the EU and the role it plays in the partner countries. The final poll also sought to identify evolving perceptions of the EU.

Among other findings, the latest poll found that more and more Armenians identify fighting corruption as a key challenge for the country, overtaking ensuring healthy economic growth. The poll also suggests that Armenians are also becoming less worried about security and defence.(ENPI Info Centre)

Armenian Republican party to join European People’s Party

                      May 10, 2011 | 16:51
YEREVAN. – The official delegation of the European People’s Party (EPP) will visit Armenia this autumn.

Armenia’s ruling Republican Party’s (RPA) joining the EPP is among the discussed issues, said EPP President Wilfried Martens.

Decision on including RPA depends on mission’s conclusion. If it is positive one, it means RPA program corresponds to the main program of the European Party.

Positive decision will be made in case reforms, in particular concerning electoral code, freedom of speech and combating corruption are carried out.

European People’s Party founded in 1976 is the largest political power in Europe. Seventy-two parties from 39 states are EPP members.
