Have you ever set foot in Kessab? I doubt it - like almost everyone here you are full of it. I've stayed several weeks there, walked all around the countryside. It would be very easy to defend the place and it would be impossible for anyone to cross the Turkish border unobserved, or to gather unobserved in large groups on the Turkish side, if there were people guarding the border. So in over two years of war, either nobody has bothered to set up ANY sort of defenses and ANY sort of observation posts along the border, or Armenians, Syrian army, local Kessab Muslims, et al turned tail the first sight of a rebel.

Kessab's inhabitants have had over two years to prepare and arm and train themselves - there is no reason by now that they should not be at least as well armed and trained as any rebels. And they wouild know the local terrain and would be defending their own homes. So either they have been sitting doing nothing for two years while the rest of Syria burns, or the only shoes in kessab are running away shoes.

By all accounts this was a surprise attack.
According to Vrej's source, there was ---artillery fire --- from inside turc border.
How do you prepare for artillery fire ... Evacuate.
The area had not previously been under threat.
It's easy to accuse innocents of fault.
Fact is, a basically empty town is being attacked with the assistance of the turc.
The attack is being carried out by brutle murderers. Heavily armed,well financed and launched from he safety nt of turc.
None of this is the fault of the Kessab residents.

Ինչպե՞ս պետք է արձագանքի Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունը՝ վերջին օրերին հայաբնակ Քեսաբում տեղի ունեցած իրադարձություններին: Այս հարցն այսօր խորհրդարանում բարձրացրել է "Ժառանգություն" խմբակցության քարտուղար Թեւան Պողոսյանը:

Նա նկատել է, որ քեսաբցի հայերի տարհանմամբ վտանգվել է Մերձավոր Արեւելքի ամենահին հայկական համայնքի ապագան, ու այս պարագայում Հայաստանից արտակարգ միջամտություն է ակնկալվում:

"Ցավալի է, որ Քեսաբում ապրող հայերը, փաստորեն, 100 տարվա մեջ 3-րդ անգամ են ստիպված լինում տեղահանվել, ու եթե 1915 թվականին Հայաստանի Հանրապետություն չկար, այսօր` կա: Ի՞նչ պետք է անի մեր երկիրը, ինչպե՞ս պետք է արձագանքի այս դեպքերին: Պարոն Աբրահամյան, Դուք ԱԽ-ի անդամ եք, գուցե հարցը քննարկեք այնտեղ, գուցե արտգործնախարարին հրավիրենք ԱԺ",- ասաց Թեւան Պողոսյանը։

Ի պատասխան՝ Ազգային ժողովի նախագահ Հովիկ Աբրահամյանն ասել է, որ Հայաստանն իրավունք չունի միջամտելու այլ երկրի՝ Սիրիայի իրադարձություններին: Առավելագույնը, որ կարող է անել Ազգային ժողովը, դեպքերի մասին ամբողջական տեղեկություն ստանալու նպատակով՝ արտգործնախարարության ներկայացուցչին խորհրդարան հրավիրելն է:

"Այն, ինչ կատարվում է Քեսաբում, իհարկե, մտհոգում է բոլորիս: Բայց մենք չենք կարող միջամտել այլ երկրի գործերին, չունենք այդպիսի իրավասություն: Կարող ենք հրավիրել համապատասխան գերատեսչության պատասխանատուներին, լսենք, որպեսզի իրավիճակի մասին ամբողջական պատկերացում ունենանք",- ասաց Հովիկ Աբրահամյանը։

Քեսապի ուղղութեամբ երեք օրէ ի վեր իրականացուող ներթափանցման զինուորական գործողութիւնները, անկախ իրենց հետապնդած ռազմավարական առաջնային նպատակներէն, աղէտալի հետեւանքներ կ՛ունենան տեղւոյն հայ ազգաբնակչութեան համար։

Պէտք է արձանագրել այստեղ, որ դէպի Քեսապ թրքական անցակէտերէ նախաձեռնուելիք նման թափանցման լայնածաւալ գործողութեան հաւանականութիւնը սուրիական պատերազմի առաջին օրերէն գոյութիւն ունէր հայկական կողմին համար։ Երբ Թուրքիան բացայայտօրէն կը զինէ եւ կը ֆինանսաւորէ զինեալ խմբաւորումներ, ապա այս պարագային Քեսապի շրջանը կարողական կարեւոր միջավայրերէն կը նկատուէր եւ կը շարունակէ նկատուիլ թափանցման, բայց մանաւանդ Սուրիա-Թուրքիա տուեալ սահմանի շփման գիծի տիրապետման համար։Զինուորական այս ծրագիրին պահն էր պարզապէս, որ չէր ճշդուած։ Թրքական տարածքներէ Սուրիա յարձակման 0 ժամը։

Այս մտահոգութիւնն ու աւելի ճիշդը պիտի ըլլար ըսել վտանգը առկայ էր Քեսապի պարագային. յայտնաբար մնայուն այս սթափ եւ համապատասխան պատրաստուածութեան իրականութիւնն էր, որ դէպքերու սկսման կշռոյթին զուգահեռ շատ արագ կազմակերպուեցան տարհանման գործողութիւնները։ Պաշարուած շրջանները եւս, երբ բանակի մարտերու թէժացման եւ որոշ դիրքերու վերագրաւման հետ նկատելի դարձաւ պայմաններու համեմատական փոփոխութիւն, ճեղքուեցան եւ այդ տեղերը եւս ապաստանած հայրենակիցներ տեղափոխուեցան համեմատաբար աւելի ապահով վայրեր։

Պէտք է ըսել նաեւ, որ տարհանումի նման տարողութեան ընկալման պատրաստ էր նաեւ Լաթաքիոյ շրջանի հայկական շտապը, որ անմիջապէս տարհանուած հայրենակիցները ընդունելու միջոցառումներուն դիմեց։ Փաստօրէն քանի մը հանգրուանով իրականացած տարհանման գործողութիւնները, հակառակ ծանր բախումներուն, ռմբակոծումներուն, հրացանաձգութիւններուն եւ բնակավայրերու ուղղութեամբ արձակազէններու արձակած կրակահերթերուն, անցան առանց մարդկային վնասներու։

Միւս կողմէ, սակայն, ամբողջ գիւղի մը հայկական թաղամասերու ամայացումը յոռեգոյն յուսահատական գոյներով պարուրեց ոչ միայն շրջանի հայութիւնը, այլ նաեւ հայկական աշխարհը։ Քեսապահայութեան արմատները 10-րդ դար մինչեւ կ՛երկարին։ Երկու օրուան արագ ամայացումը եւ մինչ այժմ նաեւ գիւղի եւ հայկական կառոյցներու ճակատագիրին անորոշութիւնը մեղմ ըսելաձեւով մխիթարական հեռանկարներ չ՛ուրուագծեր հայրենիքի սահմանամերձ գաղութներու հեռանկարին։

Հրատապ աշխատանքներու հրամայականը աւելի քան գերակայ օրակարգ է Հայաստանի Հանրապետութեան եւ սփիւռքահայ հոգեւոր եւ քաղաքական կեդրոններուն համար։ Քաղաքական-յարաբերական աշխատանքներ, զինեալ խմբաւորումներու չէզոքացման եւ գիւղի անդորրութեան վերահաստատման նպատակով գործնական (օփերաթիւ) հանդիպումներ, կոչեր։ Բայց մանաւանդ Լաթաքիա ժամանակաւոր կայք հաստատած քեսապահայութեան օժանդակութեան աշխատանքներու արտակարգ թափ։

Քաղաքական տրամաբանութիւնը եւ անոր ուղեկցող Սուրիոյ տարածքին ծաւալող զինուորական գործողութիւններու յաջորդականութիւնն ու ընդհանրապէս երեւցող ռազմավարութիւնը կրնան յուշել, որ թէկուզ Թուրքիայէն սանձազերծուած ըլլալուն այս գործողութիւնները քեսապահայութիւնը չունին իբրեւ առաջնային թիրախ։ Որ քեսապահայութեան տարհանումը, գիւղի ամայացումը, հաւանական թալանն ու հայ կազմակերպ համայնքի չէզոքացումը եւս կը բխին սահմանէն անդին գործող պետութեան շահերէն, վիճարկումի խնդիր չէ անշուշտ։ Ռազմավարական նշանակութիւն ունեցող յենակէտերու գրաւումն ու հայութեան հասնելիք վնասները իբրեւ թրքական տարածքներէ կառավարուող ծրագիրներու հետապնդած համատեղելի շահեր աւելի համոզիչ կրնայ դարձնել գործողութիւններու պատճառահետեւանքային մղումները։

Հայկական կողմին վերապահուած նշուած աշխատանքներէն բացի, քարոզչաքաղաքական աշխատանքները ամէնէն աշխուժ ձեւով կրնան կեդրոնանալ միջազգային ահաբեկչութեան դէմ միջոցառումներ որդեգրած, աննահանջ պայքար յայտարարած Թուրքիոյ այս առումով ունեցած փաստացի դերակատարութեան վրայ։ Տարածքները, որոնցմէ ներթափանցում կատարած են այս զինեալները, դժուար չէ ենթադրել, թէ ինչ տեսակ ծառայութիւններու համապատասխան լայնածիր օժանդակութիւններ ստացած է Թուրքիոյ մէջ գործող, ֆինանսաւորուող, ռազմափորձերու մասնակցող աշխարհաքաղաքացիական ահաբեկչութիւնը։

Unfortunately, most of Kessab seems already in "rebel" hands.
According to the Aztag sources, the invaders not only benefitted from turkish artillery fire , and safe heaven, since all artillery and support bases inside turkish border are 100% safe, on which Syria can't fire a bullet... but also they do have tanks, having necessarily been from turkish supply, and yet they do seem to have a coordinated command from Turkey, more or less live intelligence by turkish drones ?? and yet according LOLJ I mentioned, they also did get turkish anti air missiles....

The border of Kessab was 25 Km long, and they did invade by the 2 sides, realising a pincel movement, encircling Kessab.
Our Guys had to fight in some sectors, to get out surrounded civilians, and take them out.

Armenia deeply concerned over situation in Kesab, says Prez Sargsyan

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan made a statement for the press in the Hague regarding the current events around Kesab, a mainly ethnic Armenian-populated town in northwestern Syria on the border with Turkey.

According to the presidential press service, Sargsyan expressed deep concern over the recent events in Kesab. “We all remember the history of Kesab which unfortunately has been full of hellish events of Armenian deportations during the past center,” Sargsyan said.

He reminded that the first serious trouble in Kesab happened back in 1909 when in April armed Turkish groups invaded the town. Armenians took refuge in Garaturan’s hills and coast. After the Turks set Kesab on fire and looted it, they went to Garaturan, burning and looting houses in the upper district. Armenians were taken to Latakia on a French ship. They returned to Kesab a year later and rebuilt their homes.

Speaking about the historical events, the Armenian president also mentioned the year 1915 when the Kesab population could not avoid deportations during the Armenian Genocide.

Armenians of Kesab were deported in two directions: to Deir ez-Zor and to Jordan in the south. Thousands died en route, the majority perished in the desert of Deir ez-Zor.

“The third displacement of Kesab Armenians today is a serious challenge to the 21st-century mechanisms of defending ethnic minorities. I think that everyone should realize that these parallels should be sobering for all sides,” the Armenian president stressed.

At the same time, Sargsyan thanked the Syrian authorities “for the steps they have been taking in this difficult moment for defending the Armenians of Kesab.”

“I have already instructed the Armenian diplomatic missions at the UN Headquarters in New York and Geneva to follow at specialized structures dealing with human rights and ethnic minority rights the issues of ensuring the security of the Kesab Armenians and their safe return to places of permanent of residence,” Sargsyan said.

The president had also discussed the situation with Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I. According to Sargsyan, the Armenian embassy in Syria is working on a program of necessary measures to fully assist the Armenians of Kesab.
