Lake Sevan is not only about nature, ecology, fish, irrigation, drinking water, sources, etc.... it's not only futur reserves, life insurance of Armenian statehoood, etc..;
Its is first of all, our autonomous energetic reserve, in case of total war.
Every centimeter up matters.
Every meter of water up, is that equivalent of fuel spared for our tanks.

This year, max level of 1900.51 cm was reached, wich is the level last time registered in 1963, that is nearly 50 years ago.
For evident seasonal moves, it will go down until february, to rebound...
The targeted level by the government is 1903.5, wich is 12m short from original level.
In Soviet times, it was intended to freeze constructions at 1908 m, but nowday oligarchs lowered it for shortsighted profits.

If as a nation, we had some far sighted view, we would not only target the old level, but even upper.
Because in 50 years, even if our grandsons intended to, there will simply not be enough rain to do it.

A wise government would target a much higher level

Ռուսական Regnum գործակալության փոխանցմամբ՝ այսօր Սևանի հայտնի իշխանը պահպանվել է միայն Տաջիկստանի Բադախշան ինքնավար շրջանի ջրամբարներում։ Այս մասին «Ավեստա» գործակալությանը հայտնել է «Տաջիկստանի ձուկ» ձեռնարկության գլխավոր տնօրեն Ահմաջոն Գաֆուրովը.

«Այդ ձկնատեսակն այժմ գոյություն չունի ո՛չ Հայաստանում, ո՛չ Իսսիկ Կուլ լճում (Ղրղզստան), ուր այն աճեցվում էր։ Այժմ հայկական կողմը շահագրգռված է իշխանի ներկրմամբ և աճեցմամբ։

Մեր ջրամբարներում տարեկան աճեցվում է ավելի քան 50,000 տոննա իշխան։ Ներկայումս իշխանի աճեցմամբ զբաղված է 5-6 ձկնային տնտեսություն։ Մի շարք ընկերություններ, և մասնավորապես թուրքական ու չինական ընկերությունները շահագրգռվածություն են ցուցաբերում տվյալ ձկնատեսակի աճեցմամբ զբաղվող տնտեսության ստեղծմամբ։

Վերջին 3 տարիների ընթացքում, կապված Սեւանա լճի մակարդակի բարձրացման հետ, Սեւանա լճում եւ նրա ջրահավաք ավազանում ավելացել են բնադրող թռչունների տեսակները: Դա հաստատում են ոչ միայն մասնագետները, այլ նաեւ տարիքն առած շատ մարդիկ, ովքեր այդ տեսակները Սեւանում չեն նկատել տասնյակ տարիների ընթացքում:

Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ի` Գեղարքունիքի թղթակցին տեղեկացրեց «Սեւան» ազգային պարկի պահպանության բաժնի տեսուչ, «ԲԸՐԴԼԱՅՖ» թռչունների պահպանության միության անդամ, Գեղարքունքի մարզի խնամակալ Արտակ Սարգսյանը, մինչեւ Սեւանի մակարդակի կտրուկ անկումը Սեւանի ավազանում բնադրել կամ կայանել են 349-ից ավելի ջրլող կամ ցամաքային թռչուններ: Սեւանի մակարդակի իջեցումից հետո այդ տեսակները հասել են 276-ի:

Սակայն վերջին ժամանակներս Սեւանի ավազանում սկսել են հայտնվել մի շարք տեսակներ, որոնք տասնյակ տարիներ առաջ համարվում էին անհետացած: Այսպես, հայտնվել է հավալուսնը, որը վերջին անգամ այստեղ երեւացել է 14 տարի առաջ: Նկատվել է 14 հատ հավալուսն, որոնք կայանել են դեկտեմբերին եւ հեռացել փետրվարին: Նկատվել է 30 հատ կարապ:

Քաջահավերի խմբերը 2009 թվականից սկսել են բնադրել Նորատուսի անտառամերձ հատվածներում: Սեւանում բնադրել է նաեւ տարգալակտուցը: 38-40 զույգ կվակվա բնադրել է ճայերի կղզում: Փոքր Սեւանում հայտնվել են մեծ ձկնկուլներ` 140-150 հատ: Վերջապես, այստեղ բնադրել են բադերի շատ տեսակներ եւ խմբաքանակներ, որոնցից են կարմիր կռնչան բադը, լայնակտուց, բզապոչ, կարմիր բադերը, մրտիմները, սեւ փարփարը, սուզաբադը: Սեւանի թռչնաշխարհի այսօրվա բազմազանությունը հիմնականում պայմանավորված է բնադրավայրերի ու սննդի համար նպաստավոր պայմանների ստեղծմամբ:

Սևանում վերջին երկու ամիսների ընթացքում ձկնորսությունը զրոյական վիճակում է: Այս մասին մեզ հետ զրույցում խոստովանեցին Սևանի արդեն նախկին ձկնորսները, որովհետև ձուկ չլինելու պատճառով իրենք արդեն իրենց մասնագիտական գործիքները հավաքել ու լքել են ափը: Ինչի հետևանքով նաև ձկան գինը կտրուկ թանկացել է: Եթե նախկինում 250 գրամանոց ձուկը 500 դրամ էր, հիմա նույնիսկ 1000 դրամով էլ չի գտնվում: Գտնելու դեպքում էլ մարտ-ապրիլ ամսվա սառեցման եղանակով պահվող ձկներն են:

Իսկ ձուկ չլինելու պատճառը, ըստ ձկնորսների, այն է, որ ոչ մի վերահսկողություն չկա, ռեալ թվերը գրվում են, բայց ոչ ոք չի կարող հաստատել ինչքան ձկնկիթ թողեցին: «Նախարարը գալիս կանգնում է այնտեղ, ասում է՝ այսքան ձկնկիթ թողեցինք, այսքան էլ գումար ծախսեցինք, բայց ով է հաստատում: Իսկ սխալ թվերի հիմնավոր ապացույցն այն է, որ այսօր Սևանում ձուկ չկա»,- դժգոհեցին ձկնորսները:

The government is working on it and the level will not only be reached but will also go above the current goal. In fact it has risen quicker than many had anticipated.

You act as a RoA PM at this forum. The level has been risen because of God's will (Force Major) mainly, oligarchs could not confront it much, fortunately.

I heard our government now is working hard on a bill of prohibiting earthquakes in Armenia and that it is the Hanrapetakan party initiative, to enroll new party members for future elections. Is that true?

The original level was 1916 m on 1933.
The Lowest level was during the after war years: 1996-98: 1896 m, that is 20 m below original level. At those dates, the lake was dying, and when you went near the shores of Vardenis or Martuni, you would literally see the lake drying.
All the benefit of 8 years of Arpa-Sevan Tunnel (1981-89), less than +1.5 meters, were lost, and water went even 2 meters lower.
Or, originally, Soviet Armenian academitians had persuaded the regime to take the water level 6 meters up, that is 1905m, and permanent construction was banned at 1908 m (the difference being 'the wave hight', that is a kind of security zone).
As results were not enough, a second, complementary tunnel, linking Vorotan to Ketchud was planned, and launched. Most was built, before the Artsakh revolution. The last, 2 Km in a very complicated geological ground was remaining, when USSR budget influx was stopped.
What happened in war years was a litteral catastrophy for the lake, but mosly for objective reasons (Metzamor closed, war) and for a certain part corruption (exporting electricity, or fuel, while the state was at war, dark and cold years).
Kocharian had the courage and guts to end finance the completion of Vorotan Tunnel (90% built under soviet regime, but threatening collapse if not completed), notably against the will of the World Bank and IMF, who questioned economic sense, and Armenia's right to divert some of the Vorotan waters (while lesser part of the basin, Kashatagh region of NKR, was supposed to be "azerbaijani").
Fortunately, better management, and some good rainy years helped nature, more than anybody had hoped.
And water began to go up, twice faster than planned (that tells a lot about corruption even in soviet era).
And panic began among oligarchs having privatized the shores of the lake, and being total dudes, having constructed well below the 1900 level, illegally, or for some 'legally'... So, every pretext was good to open the gates of the Hraztan (draught and irrigational needs in late september 2008!) and stop influx of water by the tunnel, and as a mater of fact, virtually no water flew from Vorotan to reach the Sevan to this day, and major repairs are supposed to be carried in Arpa-Sevan Tunnel (one of the reasons presented to explain low influx of water).

Already at the end of Kocharian years, talks were going on, about lowering the 'wave level' (or security zone), arguing that Sevan was not an Ocean to have 3 m waves..; but it is Sarjik who 'had the guts' to cross over, and as a matter of fact, allowed construction 2 meters below, what was possible before.

So unless very secret plans no one ever heard of, the government has no plans to take the water level upper than what was planned during soviet era.

Yes, and you are one of the many self destructive peasants who are found at the ltp rallies.

God's will worked off of the initiated plans of the government. It would not have occurred otherwise, not as quickly!
