Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

RELIGIOUS CLEANSING - BUT WHO CARES?

    NewsMaker, Australia
    July 14 2014

    Monday, July 14th, 2014 - Australian Christians

    Media Statement from Australian Christians:

Songs of peace and love fill western churches as smoke rises from
the rubble of eastern churches falling to jihadist ideologues. Iraq
is experiencing an emptying out of its Christian communities that
date back to the first centuries including Chaldean, Assyrian and
    Armenian churches.But who cares?

Secular media seem unable or unwilling to grasp the religious cleansing
we are witnessing. Rather than lament and advocate for those Eastern
Christians and other minorities being religiously cleansed, there
appears to be a devotion to avoiding vilification of Muslim minorities
and in so doing, the plight of those being religiously cleansed from
    their homelands is often overlooked.

While tongues are being silenced in western communities, Louis
Sako appointed in 2013 as the new Patriarch of Baghdad, broke with
the Church's long-standing convention that speaking out about the
problems would only make them worse. He admonished his congregation
with these words: "I know your fears," ... But you have been here
for 2,000 years and are at the origin of this country, together with
the Muslims. Why is the little flock still afraid? Do not emigrate,
whatever the pressures." Continuing, Sako said to The Sunday Telegraph:

"Christianity in the Middle East has always encouraged its people
to rely on the protection of the law, not the tribe," "Right now,
the law here in Iraq is very weak."

And it seems apparent, that tribalism is gaining strength.

Inadvertently perhaps we are supporting tribalism?

Iraqi Christians are crying for help to strengthen Iraqi law and order
in their beloved homeland. Opening up western borders to a flood of
Iraqi refugees as 'the only solution' is at odds with the pleas of
many Christian leaders across the Arab world urging them not to leave.

But to stay they will need our help, not our abandonment.

Sako said, unlike their Sunni, Shi'ite and Kurdish neighbors,
Christians have no militias to protect them.

An Erbil-based civil engineer put it this way: "When everything got
violent, the Shiites received help from Iran, the Sunnis had the Gulf,
and us? Well, we were left unprotected". Aziz Emmanuel al-Zebari,
a Chaldean Catholic church official said: "In opening its doors
(to refugees), the U.S. is weakening those who are left behind.

Strengthening and supporting Iraqi Christians and all who support
the law over tribalism should be the goal. Abandoning villages to be
ransacked by ISIS as the Iraqi military recently did should not be
the standard of those who support religious and civil liberty.

The writing is on the wall. Prior to 2003 the Christian population
of Mosul numbered 130,000. Until early June 2014, there were 10,000.

After the ISIL took over the city last month, only 2,000 Christians
remain. That's religious cleansing. As the Barnabas Fund reports:
'atrocities by Islamic militants have been forcing Christians to flee
their homes in Iraq for many years. Christians have been targeted
with kidnappings and brutal killings to make it clear they are not
welcome.'They have also been subjected to financial oppression with
the reintroduction of the jizya - a tax on non-Muslims for living as
second class citizens in the Islamic state.

Iraq was once home to 135,000 xxxs. Today less than ten xxxs remain
in the entire country. Lest we forget.

Australian Christians seek to loose the tongue of the silent majority
to support the persecuted minorities wherever they may be. There
needs to be a shift from concern about Islamophobia to addressing the
real fears resulting in the religious cleansing of Iraq's indigenous
    population.

    Hayastan or Bust.

US seeks to provoke conflict with Russia – philosopher

Press TV has conducted an interview with James Fetzer, American philosopher from Madison, about Russia warning Ukraine of “irreversible consequences” after a cross-border shell fired from Ukraine hit a residential area in Russia, killing a man and injuring two others.

Press TV: Your take on this. Do you think that Ukraine wants to escalate the tension between itself and Moscow?

Fetzer: As a former Marine Corps officer I would observe that they are taking extremely aggressive action against the rebels. It would not surprise me if someone of level of Zbigniew Brzezinski were advising them. This is intended to provoke Russia into a military response which may yet come to pass.

As a philosopher I must observe that the silence of the United States about the immorality of these actions is completely stunning. Here we have atrocities taking place. The Israelis are committing genocide in Gaza but the United States is mute because Israel is our ally. We have Ukraine committing genocide in Ukraine but the United States stands mute because Russia is now apparently our new enemy. The situation is a complete disgrace and America has lost any semblance of moral authority in the world.

Press TV: In one minute if you could tell me, do you think then that if you are saying that they are trying to escalate this situation, is it that the United States wants to have a military confrontation with Russia?

Fetzer: It does appear that the forces behind this which include the American military and NATO is dedicated to provoking a conflict with Russia which I must observe it is not very likely to win.

The Russians have very sophisticated equipment but ultimately if there is a nuclear exchange between these world powers we are all the losers, a nuclear winter will threaten to envelope earth and extinguish life on this planet.

              EEEEEEESH NAHADAG
There are many Armenians who would agree with him. Russia has been seen for a long time as Armenia's main supporter against aggression, in spite of being unreliable sometimes

In spite of the anti-Armenian position under Gorbachev and on occasions in 1991 and 1992, Armenian forces were only able to take territory back with Russian weapons

NATO and the EU have not given Armenia a single bullet to defend herself!

There is Armenian slave mentality, but that started 600 years ago and it will not disappear in a few years. Armenia and Russia still share many common interests. NATO wants to use Armenia as a base for its anti-Russian (and anti-Iranian) projects, after supporting Turkish/Azerbaijani blockades, after supporting Saakashvili's anti-Armenian campaigns etc etc. Most Armenians can see this

Any Armenian, volontering to a fight, where Armenia`s, or Armenian (ref to ME Armenian communities, ..) vital interests are not engaged, is at least an Esh Nahadag.
In my opinion, the qualification must be: TRAITOR.
Every one of our lives, is so precious, that we can`t afford to waste a single one, no matter what cause it might be.
If there are so keen to fight, let them join our army.

It is just crazy, that knowing for at least the last 15 days, that Antonov planes flying over 5000 m high are being shut in Eastern Ukraina, by ground based missiles, commercial companies still dare to fly on a war zone.
                  Just crazy.
And this is not Burundi, or Mozambik.
It is Russia and Ukraina, the very place where hundreds of anti air missiles were conceived, and mass produced.
Where virtually any more or less serious arms dealer, may propose stockpiles of missiles, to any hot war zone of the globe....
Plus, news was arround, that last week the rebels did capture a SAM base of the ukrainski army, armed by BUK missiles....

                  Just crazy.

                  -----
Now, just a reminder, of our own erroneous shot:

In that episode, lets note two major differences:
1/- the iranian plane was out of its planned path, in a war zone, with a no fly space.
2/- it flew much lower, during a period where enemy planes were air bombing Stepanakert, and not far from the very capital of a country in war.

We may also recall, the level of sympathy our southern neighbor had, since the victims of that tragedy were the families of the diplomatic elite of theirs...
