It might be news to you, but thousands of American soldiers already HAVE been slaughtered in Iraq, and tens of thousands have been critically injured. Every dead American in Iraq acted as a restraint on America's desire to expand the conflict, and once the casualty list got to a certain size it has prevented it occuring for a generation.

I never stated that thousands have not been slaughtered today. I stated that many, many thousands more will be slaughtered if the West strikes Iran, which will not be comparable to the number of deaths the US has now. You are smart enough to get the logic, don't try to fool yourself.

I never stated that thousands have not been slaughtered today. I stated that many, many thousands more will be slaughtered if the West strikes Iran, which will not be comparable to the number of deaths the US has now. You are smart enough to get the logic, don't try to fool yourself.

So, by your "smart" logic, the tens of thousands of casualties America has suffered in Iraq has been enough to force them out of Iraq - but the prospect of America having equal (or even more) casualties in Iran is not going to be enough to prevent America having an "upcoming war against Iran". The only people who ply this rubbish are the Iranian Islamists who think they can, by playing the "America is the bogeyman" card, scare the Iranian population into living under their tyrany for another generation, and the Zionists who think they can, by playing the "Iran is the bogeyman" card, scare the American public into supporting Israeli tyrany for another generation.

Are you even reading my posts? The few thousand (5000) American casualties in a timespan of ten years are peanuts, compared to the damage Iran is capable to do during a possible future war (speaking in terms of tends of thousands of casualties in just a year). It's logical they can't use this, and thus will be concentrating on Iran from far away, trying to paralyze Iran by air. Iran is not a small country, and is probably one of the most important countries in the world in geopolitical terms. America has been carefully planning this step by step and is coming closer and closer to Iran... let's see what happens in Syria the coming months, the last country which has to fall before striking a final blow to Iran.

Maybe you are an expert on fools (takes one to, etc.), and khaki-clad fools and their lives (or arms, or legs) are easily separated - but after a decade of pointless war and increasing casualties, even khaki-clad American fools are not that stupid. And maybe the more foolish section of American politicians are slaves to vested interests and extremist groupings, but enough of the more intelligent ones are starting to realise that they all risk heading towards extinction unless they start addressing the grievances of the ignored majority, which the "occupy" protests are a part of. They may be uncertain about what they do want, but the one thing the ignored majority do not want is a new war.

Don't you know the military definition of a "casualty"? It includes the dead and those injured to the extent that they can no longer be considered combatants. The US military trys to keep silent about the number of casualties it has suffered - but it is in the tens of thousands, perhaps as high as 100,000.
