Shant I'm in Armenia and this is something I have heard too. What they are actually saying is that no one expected these young kids on the border to put up such a great fight. Apparently Aliyev and Sargsyan were in agreement for a proxy war so the people agree to land swaps instead of stating no land to be given. Basically they threw everything at us as you saw and we didn't return fire the same way, except the bravery of our boys shocked everyone.
I think this is the same reason why Sargsyan stated we lost 800 ha of land when people actually living there disagree with every degree.
There were a lot of suspicious accounts. One was when our higher officials rejected the call to attack with fire when we spotted over 80 Azeri special forces soldiers in our borders. We all saw that video.

I won't go that far theorizing for conspiracy(though, I guarantee that as long as I remember, whatever rumors do circulate in Public 99% have ended up as true. Since soviet times).
But it looks like at least a move to bring military under stronger control.
I saw the clip of Serj explaining why military commander has to mind military meters and Defence minister takes care of the rest, like budget, benefits for veterans etc. But this looks more like the other ministries where a beurocratic machine mismanages and plunders resources.
Having a powerful, patriotic and respectfull figure, like Ohanian, as minister of Defence and chief commander has not shown any big deficiencies as sistem. But shaping Defence ministry like others, can make it as rotten as other ministries like finance, economy or education.
This change that serjik made most probably is the result of Sasna Tsrer revolt, as Seiran Ohanian's name kept circulating in public as the best candidate in replacing serjik.
He replaces a very popular military figure with faceless, unknown young nobody. Thus destroying authority of the only structure left that could possibly act independently in Armenia.

Israel is to soon supply Azerbaijan with 'Iron Dome' air defense system.
According to 1news.az, MP Yevda Abramov said the system is ready for being delivered to Azerbaijan.
"This system will not allow Iskander rockets to fall on the ground," he said.

Who writes this stuff ? This system will not let Iskander Rockets fall on the ground. Hahaha ... Don't they know that Iskanders are not rockets but a missile.? Azeris need to know that the Iskander is a weapon that is self-propelled or directed by remote control, carrying conventional or nuclear explosive. It is not a rocket.

This kind of behavior by Azeris makes Israeli presence more stronger in azergeyjan. That will not go well not only with Iran, but also with Russia, as situation is getting out of hand in Syria.
But in strategic terms, I don't think iron Dom makes big impact. I would worry more on news of further Russia/azergeyjan armament exchange. Including setting up production facilities in azerpchan.
Also, having more military equipment means bigger cost for service and upkeep. When we say that azervoratu oil income is very low now, do we have any calculations as what is the minimum budget that bokhoo needs to keep all the new toys from falling apart from rust?

I understand but I find it ironic the guy who spends his time bashing western backed armenians for spreading rumours and speculation does the exact same thing when it fits his agenda. We need less opinion and more facts. There are people including myself who are not currently in Armenia and are using this website for updates, last thing we need is to dig through a bunch of propaganda to figure out what the truth is.

Mods I suggest moving political discussion to another thread and keeping this one for military balance/weapons. We're posting military stuff and then losing track of whats going on due to political arguments which have little to do with the title of the thread, which are usually about internal politics in Armenia. There's already a thread for that one.

That is the whole point! Elections in the US are around the corner. Surprisingly Clinton is anti Russian pro Iran deal and Trump is against Iran deal and pro Russia.
Steering a conflict that will involve Iran might place either elected candidate reprimand/punish Iran permanently. It is israel's constant whining objective. Iran still has hezbollah in its sleeves. Reason why they want Syria to fall in the hands of the primitives to cut off hezballah. The whole region is on fire to please the shekel boys.

The situation in Syria I would say is actually starting to get under the control of the Syrian government. At this point I think we are concentrating way too much on the Azeris as they have proven to be inept at war and extremely good at squandering that countries wealth. I see extreme danger however from Turkey. It is slaughtering our people in Syria via proxies and is invading both Iraq and Syria at will with the indifference if not the consent of the west. As the stupid ass americans and jews become more desperate to retain their empire they will likely use the genocidal turk and will have to appease it in a big way especially after the coupe attempt. This does not bode well for Armenia. Everything that has happened since the end of the coupe seems to indicate that turkey is in cahoots with the other invaders of Syria and is working in conjunction with them. The reasonable thing in this situation would be for the western idiots to concede defeat here and go invade some helpless banana republic to reboost their egos. The obvious danger is that with so many powerful players in the region, someone is going to do something that will trigger the others to act and we get WW1 all over again. There is good reason to be very concerned here. This conflict is much more important to turkey and Israel then to the other invaders and thus these are the powers in the region most likely to stirr the pot.

Սուրիկ Խաչատրյանն ազատվեց Սյունիքի մարզպետի պաշտոնից: Սեպտեմբերի 8-ին, երբ ՀՀԿ խորհրդի նիստում հաստատվեց Կարեն Կարապետյանի թեկնածությունը վարչապետի պաշտոնում, Խաչատրյանը լրագրողներին տված ճեպազրույցում հայտարարել էր, թե անկախ կառավարության փոփոխությունից, ինքը շարունակելու է պաշտոնավարել: Նրա պաշտոնանկությամբ քաղաքական իշխանությունը փաստացի ասում է, որ անփոխարելիներ չկան, եթե անգամ խոսքը վերաբերում է Սյունիքի ամենազոր թվացող նախկին մարզպետին:

Սուրիկ Խաչատրյանի պաշտոնանկությունը խորհրդանշում է ներքին բովանդակային լրջագույն փոփոխությունների գնալու, օդիոզ դեմքերից ազատվելու, քրեական տարրերի և օլիգարխիայի հետ ասոցացվող անհատներին պետական կառավարումից օտարելու` իշխանության տրամադրվածությունը: Այն փաստացի մեկնարկեց նախորդ կառավարության հրաժարականով և ծավալվեց նոր կառավարության կազմում շատ կոնկրետ անձանց չընդգրկվելով: Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանն այսօր կառավարության նիստում հայտարարել է, թե կառավարման կիսանախագահական համակարգից անցումը խորհրդարանական համակարգի, փոխում է ոչ միայն երկրի կառավարման մոդելը, այլև առաջին հերթին հավաքական մտածողության և հավաքական վերաբերմունքի փոփոխության հարց է լուծում: «Միգուցե մարդիկ ամբողջովին չեն էլ պատկերացնում, թե ինչ մասշտաբներով է փոխելու մեր իրականությունը սահմանադրական բարեփոխումների և նոր կառավարման մոդելին անցման հանգամանքը»,- ասել է նա:

Փաստը, որ Սուրիկ Խաչատրյանն առավել քան համոզված էր, որ կադրային ջարդն իրեն չի վերաբերելու, վկայում է ոչ միայն իշխանությունից կառչած մնալու նրա ցանկությունը, սկսված փոփոխություններին նրա անհամաձայնությունը, այլեւ նաև վստահությունը, որ իշխանությունը չի կարող հրաժարվել իրենից և այն ռեսուրսից, որ Սյունիքի մարզում իրենով պայմանավորված ծառայում է քաղաքական իշխանության դիրքերին: Դիմադրության ակնհայտ դրսևորում էր նաև իր հրաժեշտի ելույթում նախկին վարչապետի արած այն ակնարկները, թե ինքն ակտիվ քաղաքականությունից դուրս չի գալու:

«Հեռացողների» նման ռեակցիան հաստատում է, թե նախաձեռնված փոփոխությունները որքան ցավոտ են խոստանում լինել հենց իշխանության և իշխանական հիերարխիայի համար, որովհետև այս կոնտինգենտը չի ցանկանում կորցնել դիրքերն ինչպես քաղաքական, այնպես էլ պետական կառավարման համակարգում: Հիմա ողջ հարցն այն է, թե ինչպես են այս շրջանակները պատասխանելու իրենց նկատմամբ վարվող այս «մեկուսացման» քաղաքականությանը: Իրավիճակն առանձնահատուկ է նրանով, որ այս կոնտինգենտը, որը մշտապես դիտարկվել է իբրև ընտրությունից ընտրություն գործող իշխանական թիմի հաղթանակն ապահովող կռվաններից մեկը, թիրախավորվում է հենց խորհրդարանական ընտրություններից գրեթե անմիջապես առաջ: Ի տարբերություն նախորդների, 2017թ. ընտրություններն առանձնանալու են նրանով, որ բացառվելու են ընտրատարածքներում կիրառվող ավանդական կեղծարարական մեթոդները: Գյումրու և Վանաձորի ՏԻՄ ընտրությունները հայելային կերպով բացահայտեցին, որ ընտրությունների ելքի վրա հիմնական ազդող ռեսուրսը լինելու է ընտրատեղամասերից դուրս իրականացվող ընտրողների մոբիլիզացիան՝ նրանց սոցիալ-կենցաղային կարիքները բավարարելու դրսևորումներով: Իսկ դա հենց այն ռեսուրսն է, որին տիրապետում են ներկայումս համակարգային փոփոխությունների անիվների տակ հայտնվող շրջանակները: Եվ հիմա հարց է առաջանում՝ նրանք շարունակելո՞ւ են այդ ռեսուրսը տրամադրել կառավարման մերիտոկրատական սկզբունքին անցնելու փորձ անող իշխանությանը, թե՞ ոչ: Չտրամադրելու դեպքում մեծանալու են ՀՀԿ-ի խնդիրները: Եվ շատերի համար հենց սա է հանելուկը. այս մարդկանցից հրաժարվելու դեպքում ինչի՞ վրա են ՀՀԿ-ում հույսը դնելու և արդյո՞ք այս գործընթացը նշանակում է, որ ՀՀԿ-ն իսկապես փորձում է տեղավորվել արդար, հավասար մեկնարկային հնարավորություններով մրցակցության սահմաններում, թե՞, այնուամենայնիվ, այս ամենը ժամանակավոր և հետևաբար իմիտացիոն բնույթ է կրում: Սերժ Սարգսյանը իշխանության հանդեպ վստահության վերականգնման առումով լուջ խաղադրույք է կատարում նոր կառավարության և վարչապետ Կարապետյանի վրա: Դա էր, ըստ էության, կառավարության այսօրվա նիստում նախարարներին ու վարչապետին ուղղված նրա խոսքի ենթատեքստը, հիմնական ուղերձը: Եվ գուցե իսկապես հենց այդ վստահության վերականգնման միջոցո՞վ է Սերժ Սարգսյանը մտածում լրացնել «անցանկալիների» մեկուսացմամբ առաջացող բացը, վակուումը:

Եթե այդպես է, պետք է սպասել ներիշխանական լուրջ խմորումների, որովհետև ամենևին չի բացառվում, որ այս «հեռացող» կոնտինգենտը կփորձի զուտ դժգոհությունից անցում կատարել կազմակերպված դիմադրության, ներքին դեմարշի: Եթե անգամ դա չդրսևորվի քաղաքական նոր միավորում ստեղծելով, միանգամայն հավանական է, որ կդրսևորվի ՀՀԿ-ին մրցակից ուժերին կամ որևէ առանձին վերցրած ուժի բացահայտ կամ թաքուն աջակցություն ցուցաբերելով, իրենց ռեսուրսները նրանց տրամադրության տակ դնելով: Այնպես որ սա ամենևին էլ այդ կոնտինգենտի վերջը չէ: Եվ այդքան հեշտ չէ ազատագրվել նրանց ազդեցությունից, որքան թվում է առաջին հայացքից: Չնայած չի կարելի բացառել, որ նախագահը կարողացել է նրանց համոզել «հանձնվել: Այսինքն՝ ներշնչել, որ ստեղծված իրավիճակում մեկուսացումը լավագույն ելքն է, հակառակ դեպքում իշխանության հետ միասին նրանք ևս կկորցնեն ամեն ինչ:
