Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Dude seriously man how ignorant are you, you just heard that as the steryotype and you go along with it. They do not take the peoples money and fill their pockets with it, if this was so, then everything the ARF has done thus far for the Armenian Diaspora would not have been real. Stop bashing, start Supporting!

It is not something against Dashnaktsutyun.Dashnaktsutyun is insignificant in Armenia. It is about all the political parties.Nothing personal.

Don't take everything at face value. Don't be blinded by nationalist rhetoric. Open your mind, look at things objectively. For example, just look at the United Nations. What is their purpose of being?-to promote peace, prevent war, etc... and etc...

In principle, these are very noble and commendable ideals. However in reality, there have been more wars, unrest, and terror in the world since the UN was founded.

The same with the Dashnaks. Look beyond mere words and declarations. Look at the facts of history and analyze them using your brain. Don't be blinded by the dashnak propoganda. There is a contraditiction b/w their stated purpose of being, and their actions.

Kocharyan's murder of an Armenian in a restaurant

The name of the restaraurant was not Argil, but Aragast, and more specifically, the lower level part which is called the Paplavok.

BUT, here is the HUGE Problem. among the nato troops are the turkish forces. turkish forces putting their dirty boots on the sacred soil of what remains of our motherland. turkish forces invited by armenian gov't to be in armenia. Its a slap in the face and humiliation to all armenians. If the Der pedrossyan gov't did the, the dashnaks would kick and scream and yell non-stop. goes to show what hypocrites they are.

Anyway, that's not the worste part. In the beginning of the exercieses, anthems of all participating states were played. Also played was the anthem of turkey. dashank members of armenian gov't and parlament were there not only to witness the turkish anthem being played loudly in armenia, but they were to salute the turkish flag and salute the turkish anthem standing up in silence. that's exacly how much our dashnaks hate turks. they hate them so much, that they saluted the turkish flag and the turkish anthem. And the worst of all they did it on our own armenian soil, only a few hundred kilometers from battelfield of sardarabat, only a few miles form unnamed victims of genocide of tsitsernakabert.

if dashnaks were really so anti-turkish, they could refuse to participate. they could protest. they could make noise. they could refuse to join govt. they could refuse to join the ceremony as did all the opposition leaders. but they did what dashnaks have always done, they proved once again that they are traitors. they went and they saluted the flag and the anthem of our eternal enemies. how can a patriotic armenian stand up and salute the turkish flag and the turkish anthom in armenia. how?
When you're criticizing ARF, please be careful to point your criticism at the leadership, which like most leaderships out there is wrought with corruption and greed. A person's principles and thirst for justice seem to proportionally wane as he goes up in the power ladder. There aren't many exceptions to this rule. Maybe even Levon fell victim to this rule. He was after all the intellectual force behind the first Armenian plans for reunifying Artsakh with Armenia. Hardly the same person who would later go and kiss Turkish ass for god knows what promises. What happened? Greed, corruption. You see this around the world. Angry, righteous fighters for their people's justice become sloths and charlatans as they gain power. Look at Arafat. Right or wrong, he was a fanatical fighter for his people's rights. Later on he is a corrupt, gluttonous pawn. This is just a theory by the way, you don't have to agree.

The bottom line is to brandish dashnaks as traitors is extremely unfair and cruel to thousands of Armenian patriots who served and died for Armenia. If Zoravar Andranik had died before he had the chance to leave ARF, would he be included in your derisions. What about, for example, Shahen Megherian, who was a member of ARF till his death as a patriot. Was he a traitor? I presume your answer is of course not. So, please correct your rhetoric to give proper respect to people like Shahen.

I must agree with "Hai", that overall, not withstanding few corrupt leaders, ARF has at least stood as a beakon of Armenian resistance for many many years. When people think, Hai Fedayi, they're most probably thinking Dashnak.

But of course my criticism is aimed at the leadership. I cannot possibly critize the rank and file ordinary members of the party who play no role whatsoever in party policies. I have know most (though certainly not all) ordinary dashnaks to be patriotic, nation-loving people. However, the overwhelming majority of these people are not even aware of the socialist nature of the party. Moreover, they probably don't even care about socialism.

I'm not branding all dashnaks as traitors, i just don't aggree the leaderships un-patriotic policies. If thousands of dashnaks died for Armenia, that was their national duty as Armenians to die for Armenia. Why should their sacrifices be worth more than anyone elses? Had it not been for Vazgen Sarkissian, had it not been for Samvel Babayan, and had it not been for Monte Melkonian, Artsakh would never have been liberated, whose movement the ARF initially opposed by the way.

Today in Armenia there lives a hero by the name of Jhirayr Sefilyan. He was a life-long member of the dashnak party. His role in the Karabakh war was very crucial. He has withdrawn from the dashnak party and today he is the leader of the Organization for Protection of the Liberated Terriotries. This man, though he put his life on the line for his nation, today the Dashnaks don't even stand by his side as he seeks his Armenian citizenship. The dashnaks, who are in government with a lot of power, don't want to grant a hero who put his life on the line for his country just because he is no longer a dashnak.

I also did not hear much noise when the Israeli ambassador to Georgia and Armenia publicly denied the Armenian Genocide.
