Can't you read? (guess I shouldn't have had to ask...). Look - Armenians are going to oppose your membership and with good reason. Obvioulsy your nation needs to mature and face up to its past (and Ottoman Empire is Turkey's past - and your leader know this - even Ataturk did - and this is part of why their fanatic need to deny...) - anyway - my thoughts and words are just wasted on you - so just shove off then - BTW - you are attributing many things (thinking/saying) to me that have nothing to do with my positions...Can't you read? sorry...nevermind - begone insignificant and irrelevant little pest...

we,both sides are repeating ourselves. We cant add new views.it is locked. But I can very honestly tell you that even if one day Turkey, with the help of EU can become a more developed and open country I still can gurantee you that Turks will never accept the genocide charges.as you say I am not also very sure that we can be entegrated to EU some day,(it is much easier to integrate to Armenia than to Sweeden)but lets say it happened still we will deny genocide. The reason is that we (more than 95% Turks) are very proud of the war that we did to create our country Turkey. And unfortunately the Armenian tragedy has happened during this period.so to accept such a thing means to deny ourselves.germans were very powerful when they commited genocide. But Turks were very weak and just trying to save or create their country.but on the other hand we have to accept the reality that from the examinations of the Y chromozomes it comes out that today about 70% of turks contain to some degree an Armenian and greek blood. And Visa versa.ı know this makes upset both sides.

MadTurk - you are so wrong on a great many fronts. Your views are incredibly myopic and you do not at all understand the situation outside of a very narrow perspecitve. If I were you I wouldn't think to predict the outcome of anything related to these issues nor would I comment concerning what my and other's positions are here as you are clearly incapable of understanding even the most basic elements of them.

I'm all for Turkey joining the EU. Right now. Today. I also support Greece dropping out of the EU, and the Orthodox Balkan countries staying the hell out of the EU.

Who cares? I hope the socialistic EU disintegrates.

Who knows what will happen. If they are granted membership, perhaps it will all result in a non-event.

Armenians oppose Turkish membership for the sole reason that whatever Turkey wants to get, Armenians want to stop it getting! Lucky for Turkey. I'm sure there are lots of Turkish fifth-columnists amongst these Armenians, stirring up the pot. Both Turkey, America, and the EU elites would rather there were lots of news reports on the easily dismissable opposition of a yelling mob of "ethnics" with their weird and inscrutable age-old emnities than have news reports on the many legitimate reasons to exclude Turkey.

Actually, full Turkish membership makes Georgian, Armenian, and Azeri membership almost certain eventually.

With all the uncertaintyover the start of membership talks, I bet the Georgians were sweating a bit recently - what would they do with all those newly-bought EU flags if the Turks were given a no.

The public everywhere in Europe is against the EU. Only the fat pigs with their snouts deep in the EU money-trough are for it. And being Muslim won't stop the Turkish leaders from getting down on all fours and pigging-out like the best of them.

                      What is EU anyway?

If Europeans want the piece of land on the Anatolian peninsula to be "European", than they should support Greeks and Armenians to reclaim their lands, than that piece of land, would become "European" in a hurry and trully provide all the economic benefits that Europe wants.
