Armenia doesn't have access to a sea and opening the borders still won't allow them to have FREE access to a sea. Any products that go through Turkey will surely be taxed. If you are trying to compete in the global market and make a profit, you need to cut out the middle man and go right from the source to the destination. Otherwise Armenians will be nothing but cheap labour.

And there should be NO COMPROMISE on the Genocide issue. Something so overwhelmingly witnessed, documented and concealed for nearly a century shouldn't be "left up to historians".

Did i said that they wont be tariffs?So u think that world market is about free export of ur products or u think that china or germany or other dont buy harbors for there shipments,and then u jump in the logic of midle class if such thing exist in Armenia will turn in cheap labour,for ho for turks?i dont get it.

Well u try to imply the canadian economic condition upon armenia and so explain the situation?

Yes Josef but are you suggesting the document will negatively impact Armenian's survival? I don't see how.

If anything, hopefully it should improve and facilitate the security, trade and transport concerns of Armenia. Nowhere can I see the demand to withdraw from Karabagh or acquiescing on genocide recogntion. Perhaps a bit optimistic but the part of implementing a dialogue on the historical dimension might even allow Turkish politicians an avenue for formal genocide recognition without committing electoral suicide.

That i think also,its a game where we can have total victory,and come something bigger is that we hoped so long? At least some part of this Turkish government will have to accept the truth.

Of course they buy harbors for their shipments but they are shipping either large quantities or big ticket items. Armenia with only 3 million population could hardly fill a ship full of products in a year.

Aren't the Chinese cheap labor? Vietnam? Bangladesh? This is where most of the clothing and other everyday products I use come from. Most of the people who are put to work in those countries are impoverished. How is it that I buy a $50 shirt or a $100 pair of running shoes yet the people who work in those plants are dirt poor? The hard work that goes into the cotton farming, sewing, stitching, etc. is done by the poorest people in the world because they are exploited by not only the more powerful nations but also their own governments.

- the sub-commission on the historical dimension to implement a dialogue with the aim to restore mutual confidence between the two nations, including an impartial scientific examination of the historical records and archives to define existing problems and formulate recommendations, in which Armenian, Turkish as well as Swiss and other international experts shall take part.

Why its so bad French Russia Greece and other historian will come in aid for Armenia also there is no mention about 1915.

I think this will benefit Armenia very much economically. It will open routes to Turkish and European market; we won't have to rely on Georgia as much, especially because it is in unstable condition. Of course, Turkey is doing this in order to please the west especially European UNion. But also, open border will help the Kurdish region economically, so in a way they kill two bird with one stone. Given that we did not make any concessions on Karabkah, then this is very good news for us.

The Turkey-Armenia border, closed for more than 15 years, will be opened to trade once diplomatic relations are established, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said Tuesday. Two protocols signed by the longtime rivals on Monday and released Tuesday said the border would be opened within two months of the ratification by each country’s Parliament of an agreement on diplomatic relations. Such an agreement is expected to be completed within six weeks. The protocols also call for the formation of an international history commission to study the Armenian genocide, the central dispute between the countries.

I find this totally redundant. I mean to Redo AGAIN "the formation of an international history commission to study the Armenia Genocide". This has been done already and approved as such: MEANING AS GENOCIDE. How many times is it going to be approved???
