Why is that a "sign of backwardness???" I'm really puzzled. Is Germany a "backward" country? Isn't Germany independent enough??? Is South Korea more "backward" than North Korea? I really don't see your point.
Can your statement be the reflection of a "backward" view on alliances and cooperation?

I view it as a cost effective solution to National Security and, in this case, the convergence of both Armenian and Russian interests.
Also, is it fundamentally different from collaboration or foreign presence in other fields such as the energy, the economy, sciences etc.?

A powerful national army may mean a lot.If you had a more powerful army,your hopes of gainin so-called western Armenia would be less a pipe dream.

The day will come when most Turks will come to their senses quit living a lie and discard their Fascist government. When rewriting history and beleiving lies is at an end they will be able to join the world society and prosper.

Armenians will persevere.

First of all, the "discovery" could have been and was about your first statement i.e. the fact that one needs a powerful army to liberate an occupied land.
Second of all, your second statement was a conditional statement - probably, too subtle for you -

And considering it as true as "1+1=2" would not mean that I agree - or disagree - with your later statement
