Just saw her on "D.L. Hughley Breaks the News," on CNN. She's a photojournalist who photographed Obama's campaign, from Iowa to inauguration. She also works for Newsweek, Essence, US News & World Report, Le Monde, Newsday, and The New York Times.

Scout?

Nice eyebrow piercing... how old is this woman? I guess you have to appeal to a younger crowd these days. Looks like she spent one too many years covering the story in Gaza... somebody hand this lady some burek.
There is also an interesting blog about Armenia's Gay Rights movement on that page http://gayarmenia.blogspot.com/Last edited by KanadaHye; 02-08-2009, 06:12 AM."Nobody can give you freedom. Nobody can give you equality or justice or anything. If you're a man, you take it." ~Malcolm X

I need a translator to understand what D.L. Hughley is saying half the time. I wonder where Hughley attained his degree in journalism. Comedy and the News on CNN. That goes to show you how credible of a news source CNN has become. Infotainment.Originally posted by ara87 View PostJust saw her on "D.L. Hughley Breaks the News," on CNN. Re: Scout Tufankjian
What does an eyebrow peircing have to do with age? I don't think she is as shallow as to get a facial peircing to please the younger generations, especially when she photographs for the magazines and newspapers she does. She most likely got it when she was younger and kept it b/c she liked itOriginally posted by KanadaHye View PostNice eyebrow piercing... how old is this woman? 1. If you really do find him that hard to understand, turn on the captioningOriginally posted by KanadaHye View PostI need a translator to understand what D.L. Hughley is saying half the time. 2. Journalists do not need a degree to be a journalist, i.e. Peter Jennings
3. Nobody is say Hughley is a jouralist, CNN just needed something other than repeated headlines to keep the influx of viewers it recieved during the campaign.
4. CNN is still a more credible source than most news channels. But if you are still uncertain of its credibility, you should watch the BBC, it's the most credible news source around

It has a lot to do with looking professional. She looks like a Generation Y-er about to go "clubbing".Originally posted by ara87 View PostWhat does an eyebrow peircing have to do with age? Here is an interview with Scout Tufankjian

So does having a name ending in "ian" or "yan" make someone Armenian? At least people of German or Irish descent in North America don't claim to be so because of their last name. They realize they have been assimilated. Armenians are in denial.
Peter Jennings worked his way up the ladder, he was not a comedian turned news broadcaster. The dumbing down of America never ceases to amaze me. Most people outside of America know CNN and FOX news are about as reliable as SNL's weekend news. I do watch the BBC, as well as Russia Today, Al Jazeera, and Press TV (Iranian).Originally posted by ara87 View Post1. If you really do find him that hard to understand, turn on the captioning

Re: Scout Tufankjian
So b/c of her appearance and the fact that she was born here(USA) she must be assimilated and 100% non-Armenian? Who are you to judge? Do you even know if she can or can not speak Armenian? Do you know what her ideas and concerns are for Armenian issues? Most likely not. So stop being judgmental, and just be grateful that there is and Armenian who ended up being close to the presidentOriginally posted by KanadaHye View PostIt has a lot to do with looking professional. Re: Scout Tufankjian
I'm not in denial, I admit I've been assimilated to a certain degree. What does her being close to the president have to do with anything? Monica Lewinsky was also close to the president. Scout Tufankjian is represented by Polaris Images and supports the Boston Red Sox. She is a piece of Americana.Originally posted by ara87 View PostSo b/c of her appearance and the fact that she was born here(USA) she must be assimilated and 100% non-Armenian? Who are you to judge? All that aside, she has taken some awesome pictures from around the world, including the Gaza Strip. I can't understand how someone with that kind of experience can still sound so childish in an interview.
Here is a another video of her from youtube
