Re: Just wondering, Thought I share and ask
Jesus H. Christ on a crutch, can't you folks engage in a discussion without any insults for once?
I get that there are some fundamental differences and disagreements, but must it always degenerate and resort to this?
This thread is headed for retirement.

Well, the guy from Texas is overly sensative.Originally posted by NightOwl View PostThis is really terrible I feel bad for the guy from Texas, this is exactly the kinf of rudeness I've been talking about.
Why can't people disagree here without insults and name calling?
Also, he's thrown many stones of his own...why don't you also feel bad for the people he's insulted?

You know TX, it is quite fitting that you are a cop...Originally posted by TXMENIAN View Post

You are right about me having the ability to tell the type of a person I am dealing with. Thats not a hard think to do for anyone that was brought up to differentiate between right and wrong. That is what making me wonder why you are acting like someone you are not.
Most people who aspire to become cops are thin skinned and have an inferiority complex to begin with. Hiding behind a shiny badge helps their fragile ego.

If we want to assume that there is no "pure Armenian blood" then lets be more realistic and state that this applies to other ethnic groups as well, since we are not the only ones to have been invaded several times.
As for getting back on topic, sure lets do that. The article by Armen Ayvazyan is one of the best I have found about what it takes to be Armenian, and I do see a difference between Armenians by name and those who hold themselves higher and work for the betterment of our people and nation. Once your Armenian reading becomes good, please search and buy any books by Garegin Njdeh, and Alexandre Varbedian.

Karo?? chitory Agha...LOLOriginally posted by KarotheGreat View PostCrusader congrats with your son.
yerazhishda why the xxxx are you attacking Parskahayer, one of the oldest armenian communities in the world. They will stay longer Armenian than any of you living in the Us so stop the BS. With one post you've shown what kind of person you are. And that BS that's ok that people become less Armenian is ok. Thank god most hayer don't think like you.
If you thought someone was making offensive remark about Persian Armenians, Why turn around and make the same offensive statement to wards American Armenians? LOLO
If that statement was about Persian Armenians, your statement is equally BS too if not more BS.
The crappy thing is that now you guys are taking this crap to a new ridiculous level and start measuring Armenian-ism according to the country they live in.
Guys, for the second time I ask you, please stop this non sense and lets get back on topic.
Anyone who is born to an Armenian family, regardless of how pure their bloodline is (lets for a second Assume that there is such a thing as pure Armenian bloodline) or born to a mixed parents has the right to consider that they are Armenian and no one can take that away from them.
I know some of you are pro bely at this point saying BS.
Well, What makes someone an Armenian my friends has nothing to do with anything other than the following.
Considering that children have no control on their upbringing, but that is the most important part to what makes one an Armenian or not. If both parents were Armenian and chose not to teach their child the Armenian culture and chose not to practice the Armenian way/culture I guarantee you when that child becomes an adult, will have nothing to do with Armenians or consider them selfs an Armenian.
Someone could be born by a mix parents and if the Armenian parent chose to teach the kid the Armenian language and teach the kid the Armenian cuter and heritage, who can tell that kid as an adult that speaks Armenian, lives the Armenian culture and knows his Armenian heritage that he is not an Armenian?
My parents were both Armenian but they made sure we understand that being an Armenian has everything to do with:
1- speaking Armenian.
2- Living live Armenian.
3- knowing our heritage.
I have a cousin that moved to Toronto when I was ten years old. Several times been to Canada to spend time with them. When I was 27 years his wifes mother passed away. But for some reason the urinal service was being held in a Greek church. I was confused to why a Greek church. To my surprise thats when(17 years later) I found out his wife was Greek, not Armenian Greek but Greek. His wife was the only one in her family that spoke Armenian without an accent and as good as anyone else. If this woman was not my cousins wife and I knew her some other way to not hear of her mothers death and where the funeral service was being held, I would have thought of her as an Armenian as good as anyone else until the day she or I die. Plus, she makes the best Bastermah in the world, and that is a big plus.
