The term "Armo"

Can people please explain to me why “Armo” is a degenerating word? Me and my Armenian friend use to use it long before we found out that it is “degenerating”. I have a polish and Russian friend who calls me Armo and I don’t get offend. They dot call me “xxxxing armo” or something like that but they say things like “sup my armo brother” and I don’t get offended.

Well I think it is degenerating, why cant they call you by your name, why do they have to stick the word "Armo " in it. Just like today a big controversy about people using the N word for African Americans & in my opinion it's very wrong.

I think the word you're looking for is "denigrate" not "degenerate".

Well I think it is degenerating, why cant they call you by your name, why do they have to stick the word "Armo " in it. Just like today a big controversy about people using the N word for African Americans & in my opinion it's very wrong.

The N word is offensive because thats what they use to call them a long time ago.

Armo is jsut a shorter way of saying Armenian (n it soudns cool)

kinda like say its wrong to call someone Matt when their name is Mathew

I have never liked this term Armo. Geqztsi Im hamar. I mean for Polish they call them Polaks but thats a derogatory term for them. I really despise this term and would get offended if someone called me an "Armo" especially if it was another Armenian.

Well if it doesnt bother you xcelr it shouldnt matter, but I think to most Armenians it would be degenerating.

Its not a bad word but would you get offended if someobe called you & Armo then your name
Ex: Sup Armo Name, I know I would be offended.

I don't find the term "Armo" offensive, in the same token wouldn't call someone I didn't know "Armo". Each to their own I guess.
