Some of my favorite Armenian names are Ani, Maral, Talin, Tamar, Ovsanna, Avedis, and Sasoun.

of course I'm serious, these are pure armenian names coming back from the mythology where men were gods and gods were men, and probably the collective memory and my pagan side guided this choice. Why do find them 'old fashioned' ?

I'd name my sons strong names like Jirayr, Mardo, Shant

Not yet decided on girls names.

I like Shant but could never name my kid shant b/c it was my dogs name, not to insult the name or anything though. I like Jirayr also

Yes I do, its not a bad thing to each there own, if you had a daughter would you give them those names? Just curious?

yes I would, and just call them dzovig or asdghik, these are not very used names tough, I agree with you, but they sound very pretty and much better than the spread over names like siranouch, vehanouch and other ...nouch's
