Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

yeah lets put a lot of nuclear power plants in a region where there's a possibility for earth quakes, that is just the best idea i've heard all day, omg like why didn't i ever think of it? (wishes there was a rolling eyes smiley)

The point of green technologies is it's supposed to not harm the environment or anything else. Solar works, but for Armenia wind energy is perfect. I know there are some windy valleys in the middle of no where Armenia that are perfect for wind farms and could provide much, if not all Armenia with it's electrical needs.

Did you even read up on those people and try to find more? I don't even think you're educated enough to make this statement seeing as you can't spell "nuclear," or "being." Stop blaming them for a lie they've been taught since they were born, it's not they're fault they don't believe us. Don't get me wrong, you can be angry, but don't say racist b.s. things like the only good Turk is a dead one, b/c it's wrong and there are plenty of Armenians who would be better off dead too, so don't judge

Awesome, not a fan of the nuclear energy (earthquake and war prone region) but everything else good

What can green energy bring us, will it protect us against Turkish agresion? No it won't but if we build a nuclear power plant can be used to make a-bombs in the long run. And the last earthquake that damaged Lenakan and destroyed Spitak didn't harm the first power plant. And green energy is much to expensive. The money can be used somewhere else where it's needed more like rebuilding the cities.

Drivers can speed up to 35km/h. The bicycle can also work by a sun-accumulator.
The number of rikshas will probably increase in the capital streets as young environmentalists have applied to the City Hall for further assistance.

the idea could be interesting, but unfortunately to my knowledge, yerevan and specially the hills sourrounding the central city can't allow the use of such vehicle. after all men are not ants having the ability to carry weights of 6-7 times of their own, and sun accumulator propulsed vehicle will come out of the rishka concept, so to invest in rishkas just to drive on some portions of machdots ave, or to attract curious people or a tour for tourists is a little bit exagereated

When they rebuild the cities let them put solar panels on top, Lebanese money was worth less than Dram before the last Israel Lebanon conflict, and they still managed to build world class buildings. Anyways green technology may cost high, but in the long run will give free electricity to the country

Gandhi once said, "An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind." It is not the common Turk's fault that he was brought up believing a lie, while it may be difficult to remember this when you argue with one or run into anti Armenian propaganda, you should try your best to. What good is it to have an a-bomb? all that would do is escalate the situation and cause more hate and suffering. Would you use this bomb on your enemy? Can that not be considered an act of genocide itself? Even if you think it is not, it brings you down to the level of the Turks of 1915 that committed the crime.

How can you go around condemning Turks for committing genocide based on racism and intolerance, and then go and repeat something as something as racist as "the only good Turk is a dead Turk." How can you be so shameful? Are you a fool? Do you not think that there were Turks during the genocide that helped out Armenians in minor or major ways? Do you know what kind of a state they live in today? banned from even speaking of it? Propaganda is shoved down their throats left and right, from the moment of birth, none the people in charge were there for the genocide, they do not know the truth, all they grew up with were Armenian terrorists assassinating Turkish diplomats and their families, can you blame them for not believing you? Do you think the ordinary citizen of Turkey should have to face fines and/or imprisonment for acknowledging something that did not even happen to their own people? Who are you to judge them? We actually have people from Turkey checking out this site, and other Armenian sites, because maybe they are actually wondering what we have to say and you and every other Armenian like you just proves to them what they already believe.

43“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45so that you may be children of your Father in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous. 46For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47And if you greet only your brothers and sisters, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:43 - 5:48

Wouldn't be bad, we'd be virtually untouchable.

So luckily nothing happened the first time, so i guess that means we should take more chances
Well, the primary reason why it happened is because the NPP was built in the 70s meaning it was pretty old. Even at that not much damage happened. Any new NPP will probably meet all earthquake safety standards considering it will be a project built by Russian, Armenian and even American specialists. Armenia's NPP(s) are the cleanest, cheapest and most reliable way to ensure Armenia's energy and reduce its dependence on oil. Then the Georgian border won't be so much of a problem.
When they rebuild the cities let them put solar panels on top, Lebanese money was worth less than Dram before the last Israel Lebanon conflict, and they still managed to build world class buildings.
Hold on lol, this is a trap. Most of what the Lebanese are able to build is because Saudi Arabia and the other gulf states inject millions (billions) into Lebanon "humanitarian" aid.

Do you know what kind of a state they live in today? banned from even speaking of it?
A people make a state. Their people put this upon themselves and nothing more.

                    Re: Armenia

ara, you really need to educate yourself on what the "turk" is, like Karo said, our idea of a turk is a very vile creature, those who admit to the Genocide are few, those who admit to the Genocide and agree that Armenia is due money and/or land are almost none, and in essence they are not really turks anymore.

While the idea of loving your enemy may sound noble, in the real world it will only get you beaten, raped, or killed. So how about we live by a more realistic motto, live and let live. Even this though is unrealistc as there is always someone who wants something that another has, especially in the case of countries, and turkey just as much as ottoman turkey, would love to see Armenia disappear from the face of the earth. Mind you the times have changed, but the turkish, genocidal mentality is as alive as ever; case in point kurds.
For the first time in more than 600 years, Armenia is free and independent, and we are therefore obligated
to place our national interests ahead of our personal gains or aspirations.
