    It was very Soviet style like it was run down, the hallways were dark and damp there was no proper modern health technology. It lacked the use of proper medical equipment, certain things were left out.

    A lot of the kids were rocking in their chairs some of them had been self mutilating themselves in a way that certain features would show e.g. gangrene.

    It was horrible, it had really bad unhygienic smell. The kids weren't allowed to get out of the cot cause the bars were too high. Often I found the nurses quite rough and talked to the kids in a bossy way.

    From what I read that Armenia has over 100 Soviet style Orphanages.

    I was deeply disturbed I wanted to help these poor helpless children I wanted to take one home

    Sorry I mean I had a good time travelling the country and seeing the people and the wonderful things that Armenia has to offer but when I was in the orphanage it was sad at the time

    Armenian Orphanages

    I went to Armenia and visited some Orphanages there and I had a good time it was troubling it was sad. Im wondering if you had any experiences in a Soviet or former Soviet Orphanage? What is the situation like now has it changed or not?
